Composite, Synastry & Draconic synastry chart: Pluto aspects to Sun in relationship charts
Keep in mind that in order to understand the specific effects, we have to study the whole chart.
Pluto conjunct Sun
In Composite: In the composite chart, this aspect symbolizes that the relationship between those involved is filled with energy for transformation, transcendence, growth, and evolution of personality, ego, and self-expression aspects. It brings to the surface elements of oneself that were hidden, even from the individual. These elements primarily pertain to the relationship itself, though they eventually affect the individuals in their individuality. As a result, the involved parties may naturally encounter issues related to ego and relationship expression with intensity, which can sometimes lead to conflicts due to the enormous amount of energy involved. This represents an incredible opportunity for learning and evolution, with the ultimate use of this energy being up to those involved. However, this aspect can also signify a relationship with very intense power dynamics. These power dynamics may involve a desire to "show others" something through the relationship itself, potentially leading to issues of control and intense pride that need to be addressed in the relationship.
In Synastry: In a synastry chart, when the individual with Pluto influences the individual with the Sun, it means the former brings an energy of transformation, helping the latter access and embrace aspects of their personality, individuality, and self-expression that they hadn't previously explored. This energy brought by Pluto comes with intensity. The person with Pluto may evoke a strong attraction from the person with the Sun due to this intensity and the mystery they convey. This influence may also serve as a catalyst for the person with the Sun to explore themselves more deeply. Depending on the rest of the synastry chart and the choices made by those involved, this aspect may lead to power struggles, issues of control, or obsession. It is important for the person with the Sun to navigate the Plutonian energy skillfully, addressing their internal issues that emerge for healing and transformation.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart (Draconic A x Draconic B), this aspect represents the souls' choice to engage in a relationship for the purpose of transcending and transforming aspects of their personalities that still require attention. This choice entails a willingness to evolve in acceptance of their shadow personality traits. The connection between these souls may be spiritual, deep, and intense, as represented by the presence of Pluto. There may be dynamics of control to be transmuted, meaning that the motivation isn't solely growth and evolution, but also the need to release control patterns and dependencies, which the souls may have agreed to learn together.
Pluto trine Sun
In Composite: The trine is an aspect of ease. However, it doesn't mean that the exchange between Pluto and the Sun will be easy, beautiful, or purely harmonious. Pluto represents deep issues, transformation, regeneration, pain, shadow, and trauma. In the composite chart, this aspect implies an ease for people in the relationship to address their shadow aspects, difficult issues, hidden fears, or traumas that may be preventing progress. There is also an inherent ease in allowing Plutonian energy to flow in the expression of the relationship, making both individuals intense beings in their relationship experience, with high energy, including sexual energy. Despite this being a trine, caution should be exercised to avoid excesses.
In Synastry: In a synastry chart, this aspect means the person with Pluto facilitates the person with the Sun to comfortably engage with the intense and darker aspects of life, which doesn't necessarily mean negative things. Pluto brings forth issues that were previously unseen for the Sun to shine on, allowing these issues to emerge. Since it's a trine, this may occur through friendly and open communication rather than conflicts or disputes. It's an opportunity to delve into oneself more deeply and in a transformative manner.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart, this aspect indicates that one soul has an immense capacity to assist the other with their shadow aspects. Particularly, the person with Pluto brings the energy to unearth unexplored topics. Through energetic exchange, they understand and navigate the Plutonian dance, realizing the importance of addressing their shadow aspects for evolution, not just individually but also within the relationship itself.
Pluto sextile Sun
In Composite: In the composite chart, this aspect symbolizes the ease with which the relationship can bring about regeneration, healing, and a slightly greater awareness of shadow aspects and internal issues that were previously hidden. The relationship has a deep, intimate, intense, and regenerative approach that isn't necessarily imbalanced. This ease is used when both individuals make some effort to achieve it through adjustments, as it's a sextile.
In Synastry: In a synastry chart, the person with Pluto offers the person with the Sun the chance to explore previously unaddressed parts of themselves and to experience Plutonian energy in their individuality. There's also the potential for the relationship to help regenerate the ego to some extent.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart, this aspect presents a significant opportunity for growth, healing, and regeneration. Through effort, specific actions, and adjustments, both souls seek to connect with their inner shadows, hidden aspects, insecurities, fears, and traumas.
Pluto square Sun
In Composite: Pluto square Sun implies tension, conflict, and inherent issues, as signs in a square aspect are highly discordant and speak different languages, though not necessarily opposing. As a result, this relationship provides an immense opportunity for learning. The tensions and difficulties that arise are indicative of something that needs to be evolved in their expression toward each other, influenced by Plutonian energies. Thus, there is often something to be evolved in how they relate to each other, and this transformation is impacted by Plutonian influences. Be aware that these conflicts may manifest through control, power issues, intense emotions, and challenges related to personality aspects. The conflicts may range from intense problems of control to opportunities for growth and lighter tensions. Either way, something in the relationship needs to evolve in the way they express themselves to each other, and it will be influenced by Plutonian energies. Awareness is the key.
In Synastry: In a synastry chart, the person with Pluto may induce tension and conflicts in the person with the Sun, bringing forward fears, projections, defense mechanisms, and more. It is essential for both the person with Pluto and the person with the Sun to understand that these conflicts present an opportunity for learning and growth, not a struggle for dominance. The person with the Sun may feel defensive as Pluto brings unresolved personality issues to the surface. Pluto acts as a catalyst, helping to bring these issues to the conscious or subconscious level, and it needs to understand its transformative role in the relationship, which isn't about control or manipulation. In this aspect, as in all aspects, but especially this one, communication and self-awareness are crucial.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart, the souls involved may have a commitment to transmute and release internal defense patterns, issues of expression, and personality aspects that no longer serve a purpose. It's a process of healing and change, rebirth, and regeneration, but it requires care and consciousness. Squares in Draconic charts represent significant opportunities for change, as well as signs of conflict, pain, wounds, and tensions. Therefore, it's important to be cautious about using this energy unconsciously.
Pluto opposite Sun
In Composite: Pluto opposite Sun indicates that both planets are essentially speaking opposite languages. This aspect introduces an energy of tug-of-war into the relationship. There may be fear of fully opening up and revealing oneself to the other due to concerns about the other person's reaction. This fear may lead to ego defenses. There are many possibilities, but the primary face of this aspect is the initial difficulty in navigating the energies of the Sun and Pluto. It is crucial for both people in the relationship to understand the importance of learning from the opposite and recognize the potential for healthy exploration of expressive issues. If they embark on this journey without the need to control each other, they may discover the potential for enhanced expression within the relationship and greater trust in one another. The keyword is healing through trust and letting go.
In Synastry: This aspect introduces an energy of tug-of-war. The person with the Sun may be afraid to yield to the person with Pluto, who exudes a sense of control and challenge, whether consciously or unconsciously. These energies may not be well-received by the person with the Sun because they are essentially opposite to what Pluto seeks to bring. As we deal with opposing forces, there may be a fear of losing control. Additionally, Pluto, in some ways, conveys a sense of power, which may cause the Sun to feel pushed back.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart, this aspect may represent souls that are strongly attracted to each other and recognize that there is a great potential for regeneration, learning, integration, and healing within the other person. However, they also acknowledge that there are difficulties to overcome, represented by the opposition aspect. It is important that those involved work consciously to understand their role in each other's lives, liberating these issues. Even though they are opposing forces, they can complement each other and create the necessary mix for change.

for reasons i still don't understand but am always pleasantly surprised about, my last post on pluto did numbers here on tumblr.com. here i am about four years later with a LOT MORE SHIT TO SAY, so buckle up buttercups.
i have pluto conjunct my ascendant by less than a degree and my sun and moon opposite it. my last rant here was on the topic of the weird reputation pluto gets on this site for being a "sexy" planet, and i think in the last few years i've started to understand more about this notion. i want to go into my experience with pluto with you all to see if i can get to the bottom of where this stereotype comes from. heads up for certified Long Ass Post
CW: eating disorders, PTSD, alcoholism
SEMI-NECESSARY BACKSTORY:
early in life, i felt held back. i used to describe the feeling as being in a fishbowl-- able to see out, but utterly helpless to interact with or change any part of the world. things simply were what they were. for something theoretically completely self-inflicted, it was demeaning. feeling that powerless, less than human, breaks you a little. to try to illustrate what i mean, i remember feeling envious of book protagonists in horrible situations-- kidnapping, losing everyone they love, betrayal-- for the simple fact that they got to be human while they went through hell. people at rock bottom maintained a dignity i could not have.
anyone who knows what i'm talking about also knows you reach a breaking point eventually. mine was at 18. to fit a yearlong breakdown into about a sentence, i experienced a breakup that shook my perception of everything i thought i had known, dropped out of high school, stopped consuming just about everything outside booze, lost a dangerous amount of weight, and eventually landed my ass squarely in the psych hospital. ...it had been a long time coming.
when you reach rock bottom, and i mean the real rock bottom-- so deep you have to bring a fucking shovel-- you're left with two options. you can give up and die, or you can suck up whatever dregs of your pride are left and start climbing out of the hole you dug. i felt stupid every second i felt climbing, but you have to understand: it was literally the only option left. as stupid as i felt, though, over time things began to change. i made friends. i got my GED. i went to therapy and committed to it in a way i never had before. i started feeling almost proud of myself, which let me tell you, was an alien emotion. the wolves still liked to hang out at the edges of my brain, though; don't get me wrong. i spent a quite frankly terrifying amount of time around people because the second i wasn't, that feeling would set in. the fishbowl would be back and suddenly i was 8, or 10, or 14, and nothing had changed, and that was my punishment for something (i still don't really know what i did).
i'm 22 now, and four years have passed. i can safely say these days that even when i'm not Happy, i am Human. i've gotten to a place where i can handle the dark moments, and i have a genuine appreciation for myself and a sense of humanity i never had growing up-- which brings me to the actual point of the post.
ACTUAL POINT OF THE POST:
pluto, in my opinion, is about destruction. when i was thinking up this post, the words "destroying angel" popped into my head, and i think they describe pluto perfectly. the lore i dropped on y'all was meant to illustrate the themes this planet has followed since the beginning: powerlessness, little deaths, and building yourself up from the bottom.
pluto breaks you down. not in a sexy way. pluto breaks you down to the point you have nothing left to fall back on. i mean not to say that people without pluto strongly present in their charts do not experience this-- to some degree, this is a human experience-- but plutonians cannot escape it.
my first post was made in the car outside a pole lesson. instead of going in and facing my fears, dealing with the people who knew what they were doing better than me, i made a post about pluto. it felt relevant at the time and still does. i didn't want to face my fears. i couldn't. pluto ruins everything you think you are, or what you want to be, in favor of what you are becoming. it doesn't care what you think you are. it doesn't care who you wish you were. it only cares who you ARE, both in this moment and who you're meant to be.
like i said, this feeling is human, the same way that every sign's archetype is part of a human life. plutonians, though, experience this in everything they are. as a plutonian, you don't get to lie to yourself. you might tell people partial lies that make you feel comfortable, or tell yourself things that make you feel safe, but you'll never be able to stay there. that's not your lottery in this life.
i want to clarify something important: people with strong pluto placements/aspects and people with strong scorpio placements are not the same. the exact difference is difficult to describe, but in short: scorpions apply these themes in everything they are, and the need to reveal is not so involuntary. people with strong scorpio placements keep secrets because they can. people with strong pluto placements are incapable of keeping secrets. if you have pluto aspecting any of your personal placements, in some respect, you will not be able to keep secrets. there will always be a part of you that NEEDS to reveal the truth regardless of your own fears. both concern themselves with the hidden, but one is personal and in control, while the other is completely out of your hands. this is the nature of outer planets.
in sum, i mention the fishbowl because that is the truth of pluto before it reaches its peak. outer planets involving themselves in your own placements mean significant portions of life being out of your hands-- but they also mean power. when you learn to harness them, when you learn the lessons they teach, you will be stronger than the people around you. you will be stronger because you will have lived a life that DEMANDS that you find your own power instead of relying on what you've already gained to give you self-worth. people with strong outer planet placements (uranus, neptune, pluto) often live lives that are extremely difficult in the beginning in order to learn lessons many never do.
pluto adds to image, like all things do, but it doesn't care about your image. it doesn't care about making you attractive. it cares what you build your ashes into.
let yourself learn. don't define your life based on where you are right now. you're meant for more. if this resonates with you, and you don't think you have these placements, please take this advice regardless. natal charts determine life path to a point, but they are also infinitely complex, and themes can overlap. don't take a stranger's word over your own knowledge of yourself.
When a pluto sun hires 2 pluto ascendants to act as the leading roles in the highest grossing film of all time (until James Cameron eclipsed himself with the Avatar movies lol). Kate Winslet has a pluto from the 12th conjunct ascendant (in libra). DiCaprio has pluto in the 1st conjunct ascendant (in libra). They both have Libra Moons in the first house. James Cameron has a Pluto Sun (in leo) with a pisces moon. The Leoā¢Libra combo with plutonian āalien constructsā (a term coined by edwin steinbrecher) is chefs kiss. YAHMMY lol. Anywayssss the tarot vibes of tower, death and judgment moments through the lens of a true story are also chefs kiss. Social drama and decorum meet empowered transformation and rebellious choices when it comes to matters of the heart. The wealthiest and the poorest descend into ice cold water, near icebergs (fixed water) and chilling depths of utter darkness, most of them who survived the submergence soon froze to death. I remember being so thrown by that when this history was taught in high school. Anyways⦠pluto ascendants hired by a pluto sun to act out the insatiable abyss within as eventually reachable if felt. The abyss is feared before that fear is accepted for what its teaching us as pluto ascendants⦠and if we muster the withstanding of polarities, we end up translating it into a creative outlet as a means of letting go. Titanic was a movie that spanned 3hours and had our eyes glued the whole way through. Magnetic appeal indeed⦠playing out stories of power and powerlessness from opposite perspectives in every possible wayā¦. the most obvious being woman/man and rich/poor. Pain, Purpose, Passion, Pleasure, Purification. A depth in the eyes and a stature that catches the spirit of people from all types of backgrounds = pluto ascendants. We irk the parts inside that people judge the harshest. We expose whatās been forgotten and the remnants left behind by repressed anger and desire. In the movieās love story, we see the obsession/devotion/desperation/depth of codependency and abuse too. On the flip side we see how far trust between two people intensifies when tests are passed through love.
These types of posts seem to be very popular and theyāre fun to make, so here's round two. Read part 1 here . Enjoy!
Ā· Saturn opposite Venus creates the dynamic of āI work so I can have/do what I want but I work so I never get to have/do what I wantā.
Ā· Saturn conjunct Venus creates the dynamic of āI work because itās the only time I feel worthwhile and somewhat satisfiedā.
Ā· Libra Mars people tend to keep their anger in because they donāt want to upset people but it has to come out at some point.
Ā· Pluto conjunct Mercury people tend to share very powerful messages and their words are extremely impactful. They tend to like talking about deep and transformative experiences, life and death, all of the heavier topics. Some people might want to censor their voices because theyāre communicating about taboo things. Their words can trigger strong emotions in people.
Ā· Having Jupiter conjunct Saturn can be a promise of an abundance of work opportunities. These people usually work a lot but it also brings them joy and expansion. They can be prone to take on too much but they have so much that they want to accomplish. They usually maximize their capacity because they know that their luck is going to come in equal proportion to their effort.
Ā· Jupiter square Saturn is not very nice to see in a chart. It usually makes the person work in the hope of a lot of rewards but the big dreams never fully actualize. Optimism is cancelled by pessimism and vice versa. The person alters between āthis could be a good ideaā and āthis is never going to workā. Might stay stuck in the same place because of fear to take chances.
Ā· Jupiter opposite Saturn is similarly difficult for the native. It creates the dynamic of āI work so I can have fun but I work so I never get to have funā.
Ā· People with Lilith (True Black Moon) conjunct Mercury often make people upset with what they say. They can be inconsiderate, insensitive and provocative. They do it instinctually; theyāre not intentionally trying to hurt people. Donāt take them too seriously and youāll be fine. Expect them to be unpredictable and out of control with their comments.
Ā· People with Chiron in the 7th house are very sensitive to the behavior of other people and tend to take it personally.
Ā· Chiron conjunct Mars makes a person hurt by their own anger. Theyāre sad that they would ever have to assert themselves.
Ā· Having Saturn sextile Uranus makes a person very independent. Uranus positively stimulates Saturn to work on his own terms and structure his own life in a way that isnāt necessarily following the norm/convention.
Ā· Saturn opposite Uranus makes a person work within preexisting structures in order to facilitate change but by doing this one is only perpetuating and supporting the very thing that one would like to break out of.
Ā· Having Neptune conjunct Uranus makes a person want to shatter illusions and break out of the fog that surrounds them. They might be stubborn believers in change and would find it romantic notion to rebel and break out of the limits that have been imposed on them (real or imagined).
Ā· People with Uranus in the 7th house will have people cut them off and cut people off with no explanation or justification.
Ā· People with Mercury square Neptune will always feel like they have too much feeling but not enough words to express them with. The have trouble describing in concrete terms what they are experiencing which is frustrating for them.
Ā· People with Moon square Saturn will have trouble getting to work and once theyāre at it they will feel discontent, like theyāre being deprived of their needs. Itās awful.
Ā· Having Mars square Pluto makes the native feel disempowered through their actions. They try to assert themselves but they become afraid and enraged. This is a very difficult aspect to deal with. When they try to go their own way and stand up for themselves or show anger they feel powerless so they might snap and become really threatening all of a sudden.
Ā· Moon conjunct Neptune sometimes tend to make people concerned and empathetic in all the wrong ways ā they latch onto sob stories and dwell on them as if they were their own. Itās true, in some sense that things that happen to one person happen to everyone because thereās universality reflected in the individual experience but itās necessary to have boundaries in order to not drown in the sorrows of the world.
Ā· Saturn is a planet of karma in the sense that that which is not learned and carried out will not bear any fruits ā internally or externally. If the asteroid Karma is conjunct Saturn consider this to be the case in a very literal sense. Karma is a slippery and tricky thing to grasp but I believe it has to do with keeping your conscience clear and clean. In other words, in order to not be plagued with guilt and be punished for your sins you have to value your inner integrity and morals. You have to align your actions with your will and choose your consequences. If you have this placement, take extra care to cultivate stability in your life ā inner and outer.
Ā· The house placement of the asteroid Karma seems to point to the sphere of life where weāre compelled to make someone pay for their āsinsā or ācrimesā. I have found this to be true in my own life.
Ā· Having your moon sesquiquadrate Saturn means that the more you put up walls, the more uncomfortable youāre going to become emotionally but itās not as bad as the square and you can try to suppress the discomfort.
Ā· Having Neptune in the 10th house can make the public know you as a savior or messiah, a spiritual counselor and guru. You can also be seen as irresponsible and obscure. Some people with this placement can be famous for their drug and alcohol addictions. People tend to see the best and the worst in these types.
Ā· People with Mars in the 12th house tend to act on behalf of everyone, on behalf of the ācollectiveā but they can get major inflations and believe that they are the āchosen onesā. The 12thhouse is an undifferentiated sphere ā the personās actions arenāt just their own but they still are. Itās confusing. When they act itās a universal symbol of independence and strength.
Ā· Having Uranus in the 11th house can make someone extremely rebellious in crowds and groups. These people will not sit still, not ābehaveā and conform, they will do their own thing no matter whoās watching and what consequences it could have.
Ā· Your moon sign dictates your inner life/temperament. Itās who you are instinctually. For this reason, itās your truest core. Itās not your personality; itās your whole emotional and physical existence. The moon is truly embodying the sign itās in. Libra moon is the truest Libra; a Capricorn moon is the truest Capricorn, in my opinion. You are your moon sign. You have a personality.
Ā· Pluto conjunct Sun can make a person extremely hidden. The closest members of this personās family might not even know them. The same goes for other Pluto-Sun/moon aspects. They usually grew up in a very controlling atmosphere that threatened to undermine them and keep them emotionally and psychologically weak so they have to ābury themselvesā, metaphorically speaking, as to not be found.
Ā· Pluto in the 4th house can mean a lot of things, but itās always indicative of highly charged and difficult undercurrents in the home. If a person with this placement puts on a chipper attitude and claims that they āhad a wonderful childhoodā, thereās something that theyāre missing or suppressing. Pluto is never light-hearted. Some kind of radical separation needs to happen to regain power. The native has to use the home as their burning ground for transformation.
Ā· People with Sun in the 12th house seem to feel neglected and forgotten while simultaneously feeling like the main character in the "movie of life". Itās a strange paradox.
Ā· Aquarius moons have such an innocent look to them. They seem to truly want the best for everyone, to live according to their ideals and have a chance of actualizing that utopia (finally). Theyāre idealists to the core, friendly, a bit odd, stubborn, humorous and endlessly caring at the same time. They tend to be loners at heart and are often reserved as children.
Ā· In cases where the Angel asteroid shows up conjunct victim asteroids in the chart, itās probable that youāre blessed with signs, guidance and protection in situations where youāre prone to feel scared and abandoned. It should make you feel a little bit better ā you wonāt be without assistance.
Ā· Dissatisfied Leo moons can be hard to handle. They will sulk and dramatize everything. They need to feel important, special, strong and admirable. They need to be recognized for their specialness. If your have a Leo moon in your life, make sure to remind them of how special they are and what a treat it is to be around them. When a Leo moon is satisfied and content theyāre usually very loyal and generous. Help boost their ego in a healthy way! If you want to please them ā become their biggest fan. They will want to keep you around if you look up to them.
Ā· Pisces Moons feel so much and sympathize so much that it seems exaggerated. They might care about all the wrong things and all the wrong people but they donāt care. They can seem childish and immature but they can move mountains with their imagination and creativity. They sense the soul of everything around them.
Ā· People who have asteroid Lucifer conjunct their Sun might be prone to experience āfalling from graceā in big and small ways. They have great pride, but it makes the fall so much worse. Itās easy for their sense of self-importance and confidence to spiral downward. These individuals shine brightly but they canāt be owned. They have their own light and they donāt want anyone to steal it. They understand that hell isnāt such a bad place if you can be your own source of brightness.
Pluto has entered Aquarius just now (7:50PM EST)! After a brief foray into the sign last year, he regressed into Capricorn for awhile. But this time he's in Aquarius for good--that is, the next 20 years! His proximity to the Sun right now (exact conjunction at 8:46AM this morning) may highlight some key themes of the next two decades, as will conjunctions with Mercury, Mars, and Venus early next month.
