Juniper (Juni)
Located near Denver co
Rehoming due to only being pet quality, 18 month old shepherd x pulled from a shelter in sc last year
THE GOOD: easy in the house, will stay in a crate or x pen quietly, sleeps in the bed or in her crate. has some foundations for scent sports, obedience and flyball. loves to be out on the hiking trails, super social (too social for my liking). think lab in a pointy body. has traveled a ton (i do van life and she has been all over the east coast and recently to indiana for canam) and is easy in the car in her crate. good with kids and cats. mild prey drive but has been called off chasing small game. she’s also prong collar conditioned and will move onto the e collar if she’s with me longer
THE BAD: overly social with other dogs and people, causing mild reactivity. that looks like her wanting to go towards all dogs, i manage this by coming off the trail and doing a treat scatter. i suspect she was over socialized before i adopted her. she’s medium energy but has low bid ability. for a pet home she’s great, she’s just not a good sport dog.
her ideal home would be someone who hikes and camps, she could even be taught to track wildlife as nosework is her one joy. but truly would be happy to be a weekend warrior type as long as she got out every day. she loves to cuddle and play with her siblings, she has nice ball and toy drive so totally the dog you could satisfy playing ball in the park
look through her tagged for my photos and videos !
