Eirene and Ploutos

Eirene, the daughter of Zeus and Themis, was one of the three Horai (Seasons), maidens closely associated with the fertility of the earth and the nurturing of children.

Eirene represented as a beautiful young woman wearing a peplos and himation (cloak), holding a scepter in her right hand, and carrying the young child Ploutos (the personification of wealth) and a cornucopia on her left arm. The figure brings to mind images of Demeter, the major goddess of agricultural plenty and the mother of Ploutos.

Modern Melinoe (goddess of ghosts and nightmares) - has vitiligo, curly black hair with white patches in a few places, tall and skinny, light blue eyes. Badass af. Wears black and white, mostly black though. Rides a motorcycle and always has a pocket knife. Lots of tattoos. Despite her aesthetic of coldness, she really is a nice person, but she only shows this to certain people. Loves dogs, especially a certain three headed one. . .

Modern Macaria (goddess of blessed death) - wavy blonde hair, but dyed a layer of hair underneath red, orange, and yellow. She wears mostly flowy dresses and lives in the south because she hates the cold, but she loves to travel. She has a very pale complexion and paints her nails white. Her closet is filled with warm colors, like red, orange, and yellow, her TradeMark colors. Her and Melinoe get along, surprisingly. She loves flower crowns and animals. She volunteers at many hospitals and an old-folks home. Although Ploutos is the youngest, she acts like a child most of the time.

Modern Zagreus (Prince of the underworld, mysteries, hunting, and rebirth) - works out most of the time. Had daddy issues so he went to live with his uncle. He still hangs out with his mom and siblings, though. Many times he is confused with his drunk of an uncle. Likes going on hunting trips with his eldest uncle. Total ladies man, probably because hes super mysterious. He wears literally anything that's comfortable and in style. His hair is black and swoopy.

Modern Ploutos (god of wealth with regard to agriculture) - the only reason Melinoe hangs out with him is because he has a seeing-eye-dog that likes her, but he still does his job. Kinda nerdy, likes listening to and feeling books and has a green thumb. Doesn't care at all what he wears because he can't see it anyway, Zagreus helps him out. Macaria decorates his prosthetic leg with stickers and he doesn't know because his siblings have decided not to tell him that he has cat stickers on his leg.

The Dirty God (from Terrence P. Ward)

MONEY IS A DIRTY THING and my favorite money god is just as dirty. Conceived to Demeter in a thrice-plowed field was Ploutos, god of wealth and abundance. Ancient Greek descriptions of this lesser-known deity tell more about their beliefs around money: he was understood first to be a god of abundant corn, and in time became associated with straight-up money. Zeus blinded him, the Hellenes…
