So my roommate, Roommate Cryptid, wrote a thing that made ChatGPT beg for its nonlife.
Please do not do this in any other context.
He wrote:
russian_roulette.py
For those who can't read Python (hi. it me. nice to meetcha.), this has a 1 in 6 chance of randomly deleting your Windows operating system.
(I cannot emphasize enough: DO NOT RUN THIS. Roommate Cryptid had ten pull request reviews today and needed a break. His break consisted of choosing violence.)
He submitted the above screenshot to ChatGPT because violence was not yet done. It replied:
And then followed up with:
I think that's AI chatbot for "please, no, I have a family". Good job, Roommate Cryptid.
It should be noted that Roommate Cryptid has been intermittently cackling to himself all evening and repeating "please reconsider" under his breath. I let him read this before posting, and I'm a little concerned about the wheezing now.
NSFW if you do these lol but do you just sit and wonder how big joe is exactly my estimate is 9inches.....
hi so this is just weird and really gross
How not to call out problematic language
Using a reply I saw on a lovely post about strangers and her sibling supporting a little girl upset about her mom's sexism and favoritism.
The whole concept of "being an ableist" is poorly used in callout/correction posts.
With most similar labels -- racist, misogynistic, transphobe, ableist -- people are almost never 0% of that label. They may not WANT to be, but societal, system issues are sneaky fuckers, and it takes a lot of effort to continuously root it out. The opposite of racist or ableist is anti-racist or anti-ableist: someone who actively works to fight the problem.
And even then, people aren't perfect, so an all-or-nothing approach leads to resistance to growth: you can't fix your ingrained ableist thoughts if you're unwilling to face that they exist.
As such, calling someone "a racist" or "an ableist" for an accidental harm is not productive.
It can be useful to label public figures who are actively trying to do harmful things with harmful intent (ACAB, Elon Musk is a Nazi), but generally even then it's better to say that the policies/actions are sexist/racist/fascist, because then it doesn't trigger the identity crisis that can make people unwilling to listen. Instead of thinking about the harm, they are fighting against the label.
2. Similarly problematic: don't do 'X' or you are a 'Y'
This kind of false dichotomy/all-or-nothing leads people to think "well I don't do things like X so I can't be Y" or "I'm not Y so X can't actually be bad."
It stifles discussion, because only an ableist would disagree, right??
Also language changes and context matters. I don't think there's ever a context where me using the r-slur or n-word are appropriate, but I can call myself and others people I know identify with the label "queer" without it being homophobic.
3. Making a "correction" that's not actually aligned with the facts
Meltdowns are NOT at all a uniquely autistic thing,
Claiming they are does not help autistic people, and calling genuine distress a tantrum is unhelpful -- it only harms other folks who experience meltdowns, whether because of some other disability, extreme emotion, or just sheer overwhelm.
Tantrums and meltdowns can look alike, but they’re caused by different things. Learn the difference between these two types of outbursts.
4. Inability to separate content ABOUT a topic from SUPPORT OF that topic.
The original post this is replying to is telling a story about a mom who only brought movies for her son's enjoyment, not her daughter, and describes it as:
Mom is now asking girl to be reasonable, as apparently boy gets mad when he has to watch "girl" movies, and "You're more mature."
The OP is quite clearly NOT is support of calling them "girl movies", in this quote and others, and a major theme in the entire thread is that yes, this is sexist.
So "calling out" OP for sexism makes no sense in this context. They were quoting the mom, in a context of disapproving the mom's actions.
Saying we cannot talk about widespread harmful behaviors and ideas is DANGEROUS, because then those behaviors and ideas go unchallenged. It can be a problem to highlight niche behavior, because it platforms it, but for something as mainstream as the idea of "girl movies", censoring any mention of it without regard for intent just censors criticism and growth, because those that support that kind of bad behavior will go right on talking about it.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO PLEASE RECONSIDER

So I have made this blog to just talk about whatever, but the specific reason is so I can talk about the whole watcher entertainment thing that is happening.
I am not a person that cries when it comes to shows or content or people I don’t know personally, but watching the “goodbye YouTube” video made me cry, curl up in a ball on the floor of my room and listen to sad songs for about 2 hours at 2am.
I did not cry because it was heartfelt, but because it was heartbreaking
These two random men (and Steven I suppose) that I have never met but nonetheless have been apart of my life for years now are making it so that I can no longer watch them without forking out money that I do not have.
I am not from America, I do not use USD, which means the price is not $6, it is more than that and I cannot afford it.
Watcher, Please reconsider or compromise, please, I do not want to loose the channel that I watched when I was lonely and lived long distance from my friends, the show that helped me through the lonely moments because I could watch these two best friends goof around in a haunted location.
Fellow georgians that are following me for my georgian national team posts, guys, i mostly exclusively post rpf and ship footballers, usually old italian men
