Sooo leaking the sketch won in my debate very quickly. I do hope to actually finish this piece but truthfully its almost 5 am and so I don't think it'll be worked on more this week unless I choose to ignore my actual responsibilities (which is quite possible, I do tend to do that a lot tbf)

I told myself I couldn't read chapter 3 of the amazing fanfiction, "I wanna be yours" by Eternal_Era (edit tumblr is refusing to include the link to said fic idk why but I'm sorry I'm too tired to figure it out) til I finished this artwork that I started in October so here it is kinda finished... kinda
I say kinda cause I was gonna try to fully shade/seriously color but then I decided I disliked how I did the faces/heads (mostly Natsuki's tbh) and redid them and then one thing led to another and its suddenly 6 am now sooo quick fill in color it is. The joys of being an incredibly slow artist haha.
Now let's see if I can finish any of my other wips before yet another month passes. I have to work on a large painting for a Christmas gift so who knows if I will actually work on anything else.
Sadly didn't finish the animated version fully (spent 2 hours shoveling snow since I gotta go to work tomorrow and then forgot I had to eat so spend another 2 hours cooking booo)
But I'll still post the illustrated version today! Version below without the computer window assets as well as me yapping about the design.
Design wise I wanted to incorporate both good and bad luck but it ended up being mostly good luck cause there wasn't a lot of stickers I could think to add that represented her as a character outside of those signs (I really gotta reread the prison arc)
Good luck signs include the lucky cat on the pocket (actually based on a lucky cat ceramic I was gifted a year ago), clovers on the scarf, and the bows with pompoms are somewhat a nod to lucky knots. For bad luck I added all of bandaids and then the black wing to be like a crow or raven sign. I also added cake cause that was one of her snacks in the JAA prison. Considered adding ketchup bottle which she is noted as hating but I forgot haha. I did add candy cause I thought since she liked cake maybe she is a fan of sweets.
I ended up doing green eyes but honestly that could be wrong but by the time I realized that I might not be right and asked, I had already colored them and I like how the green looks. I ended up not completely matching how previous sakamoto chibi merch did eyes but I think its fine since they kinda change how they color the eyes a lot for their merch. She also gets no eye shine cause it felt fitting.
The issue with coloring her is I don't think she has any chibi art and the only colored are she has is the manga cover which obviously isn't flat colors. In the discord I shared a version with different colors and oh my god the colors just did not fit well for Atari that I ended up spending forever trying different color combinations only to go with a basic black for her jacket haha.
Very winter-like outfit unintentionally but it fits for the current weather where I live. I wanted some sort of big jacket and I knew I wanted fuzzy elements or pompoms to be like her sleeve cuffs in canon. I actually was gonna put her in pants but I struggled to draw it too much so shorts it is. She and Heisuke wearing shorts in winter smh.

Will I actually someday write fanfiction and/or do fanart? Probably not, I live to procrastinate. But if I do this tumblr blog is where it all will go. I am unfamiliar with formatting on here so please be kind.
