I like the idea also cause him training with the blindfold to hone in his ESP only to later become blind as a direct result of his ESP is just chef kiss.

Shin would for sure try to hide this as long as possible as to not be seen as a burden. Even resorting to using his ESP more to cover it up. I bet he'd already have the store layout memorized making it even easier to hide.

But then he slips up.

Lu puts a product in the wrong spot and Shin being unable to find it as a result. Shin running head first into Nagumo or Natsuki with his hood on since he can't read either of their minds to know they are there. Shin tripping over something left on the floor (maybe one of Hana's toys or something and Shin accidentally breaks it as a result making him feel even worse).

But here is the basic premise :

Shin had no idea how to tell the strangers surrounding the bed he was currently laying on that he had no idea who they were. Especially not after they just finished expressing deep concern over him. It would be rude to outright ask them "who are you" wouldn't it? At least from their thoughts he was able to distinguish his own name.

And so after much thought, Shin decides to try to just act normal. If nothing else, he has his ESP he could rely on to help him and surely tomorrow he'll wake up remembering everything anyway. No need to worry these people more than necessary... He does not, in fact, wake up the next day remembering. Or the next. Or even the day after that.

During that time, he's started going back to work downstairs and even managed to pick up clues as to the strangers' names which he counts as a partial success in his plans to regain his memories without anyone knowing.

He had just finished restocking when Lu starts an argument over where he put the soup cans. Okay, yes he put them in the wrong spot, but Lu keeps teasing him about how he is a such a hypocrite for always getting on her about that sort of thing and Shin inevitable tries to retort back... Only for Mr. Sakamoto (how is he even related to him anyway? Their last names are different but Hana calls him big brother and he lives with them making it even more confusing) to imagine killing the two of them in such graphic detail. That cannot be normal right! Would he actually kill him if he found out he's been lying to him this entire time?

And so Shin is left fearing for his life thinking he's living with a psychopath mwa ha ha.

Yes, I know I'm a hypocrite for planning to write a fic where Shin is going to be slightly ooc for part of it intentionally... but shhhhh

Just think about the chaos that could ensure.

Shin being a real psychic vs Shawn's theatrical faking. Despite Shin having real ESP, Shawn's observation abilities are so much stronger comparatively to Shin's observational abilities I feel. This could lead to a strange rivalry between the two or maybe Shawn tries to hire Shin as a "junior psychic detective".

Gus has his mind full of pharmaceutical stuff and Shin being like "Wha?? Why is this dude just always thinking about random drugs?!"

Also Lassiter and Sakamoto interacting would be hilarious. Lassiter would either have a weird respect for Sakamoto or think of him as an absolute joke. There is no inbetween.

Sakamoto would be totally indifferent to the fact that Shawn is a fake psychic since he is helping people.

Juliet and Lu being powerful girlies together!!
