Once a sheltered, shackled-up heiress at the beck and call of Her Ethereous Repression, Ligeia’s escape to the surface allowed her to learn how inefficient troll society was under her rule. Before she could enact a coup, The Ethereal entered a doomed session of Sgrub and plunged her into a never-ending void. Despite all odds being against her, she managed to harness and master her influence over hope to destroy the Lord of Void forever, and overtake the new universe intended for her former captor.

In her new universe, she rules through the hope she inspires in all of trollkind across every planet and galaxy without lifting a finger, or even leaving the deep sea cave system she inhabits. Every troll thinks of her as their god, unaware that she is even a real, living being, and The Ascended is just fine with that. Every day, her empire becomes closer to dominating the galaxy, and she has even more galaxies in her sights when that is done. Even without her constant mental influence on their beliefs, she believes no troll has any reason to rebel against her. After all, the caste system has been completely done away with… and yet troll society is somehow bloodier than ever.
