iconing / seeing what i can get done today but! okay but the way fullmetal alchemist literally put their heart and soul into the subtle animations of things, whether it’s the clunking sound of alphonse’s armored body as he moves, the way roy’s eyes go from pitch black to having a sharp light; even the sway of hohenheim’s long fringe of hair; to the seamless regeneration sequences of the homunculi to the fluidity of the battles, the way the symbolism of past events like ed and al walking past the telephone booth of hughes’ death / corpse completely unaware going to ask how he’s doing / or was (how dare you but also brilliant) -- etc.
.... it’s about the hair animation. ( no it’s not / yes it is ) but there’s something so aesthetically pleasing about both series just nailing ed’s flowing braid and the loops in it as it moves and every piece of detail in his hair like, right now, i’m slow in my reviewing because like i said, i over analyze everything with him. because it’s what he deserves (TM). and i think we all do that! we wing it, we do our best, we try new things, etc!
especially in the opening hologram like edward is on a hill and that braid is just at peak flow and between him and riza i will say best hair. i don’t know it’s the little edward things that give me serotonin on top of everything else.
fullmetal alchemist: a fictional masterpiece, mindblowing, showstopping, full of powerful strong women of every type, full of countless topics to be explored way more than shonen, it’s beyond its medium --
