How is it possible to not be able to phenotype low contents through pictures when it is often easily and correctly done over photos of mid and low contents and even full dog mixed breeds?
A truly accurate phenotype of any content can’t be done via just photos. Sure, you can offer an educated guess via photos, but to get a more accurate idea of how much wolf is in a dog, it’s ideal to do so in person, since a lot of the time things can be missed in photos, or just not at all conveyed. When someone is doing a *full* phenotype rather than just a guess at content, they look at what the claimed F-gen is, siblings, birth date, height, weight, fertility cycle, behavior, and then physical traits like coat texture, movement, structure and planes under the coat, gait and such that are impossible to judge from photos. The only people who attempt to seriously phenotype from just photos (not referring to participation in ‘phenotype fun’ games, those are a different story) are new folks looking to try and show off, or rescues where they have no other option.
The above applies especially to lows, since most lows are a number of generations removed from pure wolf and therefor watered down significantly, it’s harder to retain a truly wolfy appearance in lows than it is in a mid or a high due to there being much less wolf in them, many lows have a dog parent which further softens things, and many dog traits are dominant to wolf traits, like floppy ears for instance. But a doggy appearance doesn’t mean an animal isn’t a low :)
