debate the ethicality of wolfdogs all you want, doesn't affect me personally, but i think calling a wolfdog a wolfdog is far less harmful than the "breed" names that either (or both) 1.) try to hide the dogs have wolf ancestry and 2.) give the dogs an indigenous name they have no actual history with because wolves are "primitive" (and that implication in connection with Indigenous people is really fucking icky).

I really hope the current Nazgul situation does not prompt a boom in wolfdog popularity. This already should not be a thing.

Rewatching Lord of the Rings and hearing Aragorn say "Pippin!" In the exact tone of voice I say my little fuckers name makes me realize I did pick the perfect name.
