ALRIGHT THEN! I choose…….NIGHT
Luciana went to her room, sat upon the bed, looked at the preparations she had made for the next day, looked out the window, and then told herself that it was simply not enough fresh air for her just then, and she must be outside. She must see to her own health. Everyone needed fresh air. It was the most reasonable thing in the world. She made her way downstairs as quietly as she could manage, for there was no reason to be rude and to wake other people if they were already sleeping, which she hoped they were. She sought out the bench she was so fond of and was quite happy to find it unoccupied for was, of course, unoccupied. Most happy. What could be more pleasing? There was nothing so delightful, really, as solitude. Luciana began to glance about and then stopped herself, for if anyone should happen to be observing her, they might believe she had intentionally stationed herself here, just now, for some reason other than to simply enjoy the cool of the summer night.
It is very pleasing and refreshing, she thought, to be able to sit by myself on this very fine evening and enjoy it by myself because this is exactly what I wished for when I decided to come downstairs. I would be so extremely annoyed if anyone were to appear and disrupt this solitude which is the very thing I have so specifically sought out. It would be very rude of anyone to disturb me. I very much hope that nobody disturbs me--
Erik’s appearance did not startle her, for she had arranged her face and posture in what she was sure was as an extremely convincing appearance of serenity and contentment for some time, she could not say now long, before it eventually occurred.
