Since it’s Aquarius season, there’s no better start to our monthly updates than with a feature of our resident wet beast, the Aquis!
Aquis are agile, enigmatic companions, most often found splashing through the rivers and rainforests of Paragon. Their most striking features are their absorbent coats and delicate head tendrils, which retain moisture and help regulate their temperature—traits that once led travelers to mistake them for wandering river spirits. Able to breathe both above and below water, an Aquis will never pass up the opportunity for a swim.
The Aquis share a bond with Paragon’s waters. While they are happy to travel or settle elsewhere, they must periodically revitalize themselves with water drawn from the city’s rivers or wells. Without this, an Aquis will grow sluggish and their dewy coat may dull.
Naturally gifted gardeners, Aquis have a knack for coaxing life from even the most unlikely places, with aquatic plants being their specialty. Much like the rivers they hail from, Aquis are serene, strong, and inevitably just a little damp.

RubbleRousers is an upcoming free browser game (with a free demo out now!) about a clowder of feral cats clawing out survival in the ruins of a city that has fallen under the weight of a zombie apocalypse. Explore, hunt, and raise the next generation.
My name is Finch, and this is a game I've been working on for close to three years now. Let me give you a run down :3
Why be excited about RubbleRousers? Let me give you a few reasons:
Real cat genetics. I spent a year developing the genetics system of this game, working with domain experts to make things as realistic as I possibly could. Punnett squares, sex-linked traits, they're all there!
Survival Game and Petsite. RubbleRousers isn't just a survival game, and it isn't just a petsite. It's the kind of genre combination I always dreamed about as a warrior cats kid, naming my Lioden lions after my fanclan. Bringing new life into the world is just as much of a part of the game as dying in combat. There's injuries, illnesses, and sudden tragedy, just as there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
A city to reclaim. Every map you explore is procedurally generated based on a custom algorithm. Fight everything from zombie cats to vicious foxes.
Build your colony. Build dens, watchtowers, a nursery, a healer's den, and many more. Grow a base from scraps of moss, twine, and metal.
A story to uncover. A full narrative campaign with a cast of strange characters and a final choice that's yours to make.
Support Artists. One of my main goals when I started this project was to support artists in (and outside of) the warriors art community. I am an abysmal artist myself, but the game is full of beautiful art by many paid and volunteer artists. Every dollar donated either goes to server hosting costs, or directly to artists and graphic designers. As grateful as I am for all my lovely volunteers, I want to make sure everyone gets fairly compensated for their time and effort.

Hi folks! We're here with the update for the month of July, with a good handful of finished assets, some concepts for one of the areas that will be available at launch, and more!
Summer Quarter (2026) Concepts
It’s the first day of the second month of Summer Quarter 2026, which means... we totally should have posted the Ko-fi posts last month! We're so sorry to have missed that. The posts had been created, but got left in our drafts. It completely did not occur to us that we had not posted them until we went to tally the votes to see the winning concepts.
Which concepts would you like to see made into official site items? Sponsors of Bronze level or higher have a vote in deciding. Please check out the Companion post and the Glamour post on Ko-fi to cast your vote for the winning concepts!
To give our art team enough time to render the winning concept ahead of our 9/1 update, all votes must be posted by August 20, 2025 at 11:59pm PDT in order to be considered.

Buckler shields are designed for quick defense and deflection in hand-to-hand combat as opposed to soaking up heavy hits. Prepare yourself for close-quarters fighting by bringing one along on your journey!

Apparel: Simple Tunic
Simple, not basic: this tunic is solidly made by Talon's Rest's resident tailor, and comes in a wealth of colors and patterns.
Gear: Healer Set
At long last, we have wrapped up our final starter gear set: the Healer! Sashie did an amazing job with these, and we learned a LOT over the course of creating this set. This was the first multi-piece, interconnected sets that we'd done in a while, and we had a lot that we'd learned in between those sets and this one. We're excited to take those learnings with us and apply them to our future apparel and gear sets.
This was for sure the set that gave us the most trouble in designing. So much healer iconography from RPGs seems to center around paladins and clerics wearing heavy armor and sporting a god's iconography. We wanted the Healer class to be religion-agnostic, so needed to find a different direction.
We ended up going the route of someone who would be familiar with herbal medicine, and would likely be out foraging for their own supplies. This set has a more "rustic" look to it, with lots of different overlapping textures and materials.
Overworld Concepts: Hypogean Expanse Flora
We're making great progress in our visual development of the Hypogean Expanse, the massive subterranean area in Mythaura and former home to the ancient Eldrithians. We wanted to share a glimpse of our concepts so far, which we are currently in the process of refining before we move on to rendering.
We're still playing with the wider color palette and some of the shape language, but wanted to make sure that we have a bright, Aura blue prominently showing in all the plant life. We're excited to share more updates with you as we continue along with this development!
Overworld Assets: Flowers & Planters
Verveine, a Kirin whose family has run the Lilac Ridge flower farm for generations, brings fresh flowers to market every day. Her stall is decorated with all manner of lupines, delphinium, and hollyhocks.
Her family also supplies the townsfolk with the flowers that fill the planters hanging in the windows, alongside the herbs coming from the Harvest's End stall.
Hypogean Expanse Companion: Chamsloth
Alongside our development of the region's flora, we've also been working on fleshing out the ecosystem more broadly for the expanse. Because of the lack of sunlight, the plants of the expanse have adapted other ways to sustain themselves. This Chamsloth drinks from the nectar produced from spiked pitcher plants, using its long tongue and powerful claws to hang from the tree branches above and reach into the pitcher without falling in. The unfortunate that do become a meal for the hungry plant.
