RubbleRousers is an upcoming survival petsim, where you control a clowder of feral cats in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Inspired by such games as Flight Rising, Lioden, and Urban Dead, RubbleRousers aims to blend the survival and petsim genres into an exciting and fun new browser game.

I’ve been using it quite often to visualize cat genes and I am quite sad to be unable to visit it for the time being.

Hello, all! I'm back to update you all on the current progress of RubbleRousers development.

We're currently in an early testing phase. Multiple preliminary alpha tests have been completed, and now some testers are experiencing the game in a very early closed beta state.

I aim to release the open beta in late March. This open beta will include the game in a fully-featured state, but may still lack some art.

With that said, there is still lots of work to be done! As such, I have launched a new funding goal on the RubbleRousers support page.

If this goal is met, it will allow us to rehire our amazing graphic designer to continue work on the website's visual style. Any support is much appreciated! Once the graphic design is largely finished, I will also be launching another funding goal to get a new trailer made of the game.

You can also support the project through volunteering as an artist. DM me for more information!

As game development progresses on RubbleRousers, I am seeking the help of artists from the community to create apparel items, such as collars, vests, earrings, and more!

Since restarting development (checks notes) like a week ago, RubbleRousers has been progressing at a breakneck speed. Who knew that being medicated for ADHD can help you focus ~_~

In this time, the game has received a large number of bug fixes and a major UI overhaul.

Current plans are to release an alpha build to a select number of testers at the end of the week. Here are some screenshots!

If you have been following this page, you know that there have been no updates to RubbleRousers in some time. There is a reason for this, and unfortunately that reason is cost.

As much as I love this project, I do not have the personal funds to continue supporting it. I have poured everything I could into this project and getting the Kickstarter off the ground.

The barrier to development at this point is server costs. I need a remote server host to develop the backend of the game, and, all things included, that costs about $60 a month.

If I could raise this amount, I would be able to continue work on the game.

If you are able to financially support RubbleRousers, then it would be greatly appreciated. I have set a goal on my Kofi to fund 2 months of development at this time. This would allow for me to get a significant head start on work for the game, which is already nearing a playable state.

As you may have seen, the RubbleRousers Kickstarter unfortunately failed at around 50% of our goal. Let me start by saying thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to each and every person who made a pledge. It is amazing that we made it as far as we did.

I also want to assure you that this is not the end of the project, just a setback. More details below.

Unfortunately, I don't have much new to show you. The card battle system is developing well on the backend, but still needs to be integrated with the frontend for use.

I don't have much to give in the form of an update today, but things are going well on the development side of things!

I apologize for my absence, school and work have been very busy to me. I wanted to announce that due to an incredibly generous donation, RubbleRousers is now 45% funded! We have 16 days to go, can we make it the rest of the way?

I wish I had more to show at the moment. Most of what I'm working on on the dev side right now is backend stuff, which is just code, and not very fancy. You can see things starting to work on the frontend, though!

Here's a couple screenshots. The images are being dynamically combined on the backend based on a frontend-based system, so no more waiting for the system to load while making your cats!

I know I've been slacking on the Kickstarter updates, but I have been working on a few things! Namely, actually putting the website together.

This is an entirely front-end enabled demo, meaning that it is much faster than the existing demo. It doesn't have the kitten maker feature, but it does allow for designing cats much faster!

Unfortunately, we have not raised anymore pledges in the last few days. We are almost halfway done with our fundraiser, and we are only 15% funded. Please help make RubbleRousers a reality with your pledge!
