Not sure if anyone's gathered this much, but I try not to say much worse than "crap" on the Internet. It wasn't always the case (though deep down, I've always hated to cuss even IRL), but I'm trying my best to show more restraint these days.
If I've ever reblogged anything with a swear in it, it's typically because I saw some value in the post outside of the cussing, or I'm simply replying to what was said. Plus, it's neither my will nor job to police how people talk. My blog is not strictly Swear-Free, but I try to keep it to a minimum.
Anyway, the thought crossed my mind because I have a 55-page "pilot" for one of my comics*, and there's more cussing in it than I'd be comfortable writing now. At least, for that project. I've typed worse words in lesser projects even since, but I'm earnestly trying to kick the habit.
Not sure if any of this comes across as hypocrisy, but hopefully you can see where I'm coming from.
*But yeah, Green Leader totally swears off-screen, lol
Please do yourself a favour. Don’t lower your standards to fit in. Don’t shrink who you are to make others feel comfortable. Do find and surround yourself with people who like you just the way you are and who encourage you to keep growing.
