It is difficult to articulate rejection. I am a female Christian with high functioning autism. I’m told not to offend others. OK, fine. However, a mere mention of "I'll pray for you" or "Amen" suddenly transforms me into the embodiment of the Anti-Christ.

My passion is biblical studies and how it relates to daily life. Sense when did discussing a lifelong passion become triggering? When did expressing a very real faith, which has saved me from suicide three times and worse, self-harm, become insignificant?

Even in the spectrum community, I've encountered ridicule and advice to keep quiet. And I think to myself, Wow. So much for inculcation. I’ve carried on this way for 20 years. I will turn 41 on September 22nd, and the only explanation that makes sense is persecution. Plain and simple. They did it to Jesus; I shouldn’t think it strange that they do the same to me.
