Western “Disney” Style ZhaBing Au

I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I started working on the second chapter in my Shangmei Oubing doujinshi, hit a point I was having a hard time drawing, and decided to take a detour and draw something I had been tinkering with in the back of my mind.

I've gotten lots of comments that my art looks like “Disney” hehe which I guess is fair? It is not something I was ever aiming for, but I grew up loving Disney movies and wanting to be an animator so of course that influence is going to show up in my style.

So I wanted to combine that Disney style with other desires I had; One was to see a more Shang Dynasty inspired aesthetic (As you probably know 'Investitures of the Gods” is set in the Shang Dynasty) and Two was to see an Aobing who was taller than Nezha. As I've been drawing my Shangmeioubing comic, of course when they are younger it's logical that Aobing is taller but as I aged them up it made sense that Nezha would catch up and become taller. Though really, are there any rules in Shangmeioubing??? But it always made me a little sad, I loved the taller Aobing who could easily baby Nezha. So when it comes to a canon I have full control over, I've done what I always wanted.

Also, even though this is supposed to be a 'Western Style' Zhabing of my own design, and I had many choices to make Aobing any color I wanted, I ended up with Red haired Aobing wearing purple uhhhh. But Really, RedBing is the best. Obviously it was heavily inspired by Shangmei Aobing, but I'm not going to use the tags because I think I've made it so different it might actually upset some fans if I use the shangmei tags. Opps, I hope no fans are offended, this is truly just a little passion project of my own desire.
