Something I haven't talked about that much is that this year I lost a very good, old friendship. It had been dying for awhile. Some friendships go into that gentle good night, where you naturally drift apart. This was one of those friendships where the ending was extremely messy and had grown toxic for everyone involved, but it was unusual that the mess was contained to a few people and thankfully didn't devolve into a huge public spat on any of our parts. 

In the middle of all of this, I was still getting acclimated to my new home in Pennsylvania. I'd had little luck making any lasting friends outside of work, and said former friend had succinctly pointed out it was all my fault for moving to begin with. I had tried dabbling in the Bones fandom, but never quite fit because Booth/Brennan wasn't my OTP to end all OTPs. 

Six weeks after the toxic friendship ended, "The Wedding of River Song" aired. I'd also been dabbling in the Doctor/River fandom, and that episode sealed my love for this ship. Or, as I mentioned, I went from "Oh, they're cute" to "Oh, I like this ship, I think I'll write fic for it" to "EPIC OTP, I AM GOING DOWN WITH THIS SHIP." That's when I began using Tumblr more and discovered a world of amazing people that are a constant joy to be around. Chief among them are areyoumarriedriver, penguinspy42 and cheshire-song. It's because of you guys, and the rest of you as well, that I was able to move past what happened fairly fast and not be bitter about it.

eastofthemoon - I don't know what I would have done without you and Isa this year while I was waiting for Mike. Thank you so much for being an amazing friend, and I am so happy for you and Stu.

gytrash - Your sense of humor and the way you make gifs is amazing, and I've enjoyed talking books with you.

humansrsuperior - Your art, writing and vidding are all amazing, and I am in constant awe of your work. I love talking about the '30s and three-piece suits and Sinatra with you.

joyfulily - I am so proud of you for completing your coursework and the success you've found this year.

ickaimp - My favorite squid. Ever. I miss you so much.

irony-rocks - Thank you for all the hard work you put into making the Doctor/River fanwork awards happen. 

lonewytch - I'm so glad we've gotten to follow each other on LJ and here. I adore your writing.

mostexcellentcanopy - You are one of the kindest, funniest people I've met through Tumblr. It's been such a joy chatting with you.

mr-owls - Your sense of social justice and equality is admirable. I have gotten to see the beauty of the human body through the pictures you've posted.

musedepandora - Your writing is just beautiful, and I'm so glad I've gotten to talk to you through chat. 

secondlina - Best Internet wife ever. I promise I'll be a better spouse to you next year. Thank you for accepting me for who I am. *squish*

theillustriousmissjo - I adore your sense of humor and how you convey it through your art and writing.

tomhiddlestonshair - I am now interested in the work of Tom Hiddleston thanks to you. I'm so glad I was able to talk with you about immigration stuff.
