His eyes darkened as he watched the woman cross the street, click-clacking of her heels audible even in the car he was sitting in. Her hair perfectly styled in an updo that, in his opinion, made her face look longer than it already was. 

Some men found her pretty.

Not him. No one was as pretty as his sweetheart. But compared to this harpy, she was a goddess even. He slid his tongue over his teeth, wanting to bear them. In fact, he knew if he did that in front of her she'd be terrified. Maybe he should. 

But he was a reasonable man.

He didn't want to jeopardize his chances in the elections. But he couldn't let it slide that she bullied his wife. The others he would get to, in time, but this one… this one was the worst. 

His girl didn't talk much about her, and didn't even talk bad about her, but he knew that look in her eyes. That doubt and nerve. This one, was the reason why she thought lesser of herself.

He hit the siren and revved the motor to cut her off before she reached the other street. Watching her nearly jumping at the sound, he suppressed a smile. He got out of the car, grabbing his belt to lift his pants up over his belly and walked over to her. 

“Jade walking?” He started sternly. 

“Ehm, hi sheriff. No, not really, I was just -” she babbled and tried smiling coyly.

He ignored it. “There's no crossing here, did I not see you cross the street without looking?”

“I was, I mean, of course I looked.”

“You just said you didn't, which one is it?” He made sure to look more menacing with every question he asked. 

She looked cornered. By now realizing that whatever she would say, it would be wrong. Her offense wasn't the worst one, but he had ulterior motives and while she suspected it, it would not matter if she spoke of them. He was the law. 

“I'm sorry,” she caved.

“You will be.” He took out his notepad. “That's a hefty fine. Should've been more careful. Don't know if it's a car hitting you next time. You wouldn't want that, would ya? You, or your friends. You don't seem to pay much attention, do you? Probably with your head full of gossip, like you ladies like to discuss. Well, you should be glad I was here. Keeping an eye out.”

He gave her the note, the number a lot higher than he normally would give, if he ever bothered to give one for such a thing. And she blanched seeing it, but was wise to keep her mouth shut.

“Don't let me catch you doing this again,” he warned, as he looked at her with disdain. “And next time, don't even try to lie. I'm not fooled by a fake smile from a dumb bitch.”

Her eyes widened but he turned around and got back into his car. This wasn't over. But he needed her to be aware he was coming for her. Her and those other bitches. He was going to make them miserable for the rest of their days. And if they ever made her cry again, he'd make sure he'd rip their throats out personally.
