To add a bit more interest I've added gores to the side seams, decorated with lace of course! But I somehow got the length measurements mixed up and sewed the skirt way too long. So I had to shorten it and remove the waist I've already added. Basically, the skirt was finished until it turned out too long.

Now I took it out of the UFO pile and wanted to finish the skirt. But somehow I wasn't sure if I should finish it into a skirt anymore. Maybe it wanted to be a dress all along? Though I didn't really have enough fabric left over for a bodice part. As I decided to turn it into a dress I used all my printed patchwork leftovers, the fabric from the gores, a floral fabric scrap that matched the scrap, green gingham print and a creme coloured scrap with pintuck details and lace for the bodice. It was a fun challenge to piece together and create a patchwork out of all my scraps! The bias tape made from the creme fabric for the edges really ties it together so well.

Today the weather was finally warm enough and I jumped on the change to wear the dress out immediately!! I wasn't even out of the house as my friendly neighbour complimented me on the dress
