Thursday, I met up with my friend Elle, so we could reminisce a little about our friend Rorie before her ceremony of life today. We talked and shared stories and missed her terribly, as we probably will for the rest of our lives.

While we were talking, I saw people jumping into Lake Union (it was like 85 degrees out) and I commented on how that looked fun.

Elle proceeded to coerce me into jumping in the lake. Which of course I did, because secretly I want to tap into that bold part of myself. But also because, Rorie’s passing has to mean something, and some of that is that life IS short and you have to embrace life with your friends and loved ones, and sometimes that randomly jumping into a lake even though you have no swim clothes or towel.

It’s what she would have done.

I miss you Rorie. Every fucking day, I miss you. You are the example of the person I wish to be, that I want to be.
