jeong jeong. he was a gay man in the navy but was also an uptight rules-and-discipline kind of military guy and didn't make himself super available. spent more time beating himself up for impure thoughts than acting on them

Hello and welcome once again to the Avatar: The Last Airbender Rarepair Month event!

This event is a month long, spanning the entirety of the month of May 2026, and will be devoted to any and all forms of content celebrating the Rarepair ships of AtLA.

Content can include but not limited to fanfiction, fanart, moodboards, edits, music videos and playlists.

Week 1 - Flirting with Danger, Playing Games, Sheltering Up - May 1st to May 6th

Week 2 - The Hunted, Emotional Support <insert joke>, Wild West - May 7th to May 12th

Week 3 - Unwanted Travel Companions, Good Cop, Bad Cop, Last Words/Goodbyes - May 13th to May 18th

Week 4 - Royal Pains, Empty Bellies/Snack Breaks, Panic/Phobias - May 19th to May 24th

The rules for entries are as follows:

-Must be 18+ to participate, as we will be accepting NSFW entries (make sure to tag appropriately for content warnings and put under a read more)

-A rarepair must have 300 or less fics on ao3 to be considered acceptable.

-For this event we are excluding any Canon Character x Reader submissions.

-We will, however, accept Canon Character x OC submissions.

-All content is acceptable, please be courteous of other people’s submissions and do not leave hate or discourse in the comments and tags. This is a celebration of rarepairs and encouraging more content for rarepairs in the fandom. If you don’t like something someone made, just keep scrolling.

In the final battle, there's a moment when everything feels lost, then suddenly...

GRAN GRAN, JEONG JEONG, BUMI, PIANDAO, PAKKU AND HAMA ARRIVE AND BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF OZAI AND HIS FIRE NATION CRONIES (while Lo and Li bring Azula to her senses, deposit her with the other kids, and then join the seniors-beating-up-ozai team)

the gaang can only look on in fear and awe.

ok, i'm sorry. you were probably expecting a serious answer but i... honestly can't tell. i wanna wait and see what zuko does now, after sending combustion man after them. i haven't actually finished the ep with Hama (i just know she's SWT), so idk what her role in the story will be, exactly. i expect we'll see more of what happened to katara and sokka's mum, and get some closure in that regard. aang will try to extend a hand of compassion to azula, i'm not sure about ozai. also, whatever happens, i hope mai and ty lee stick by azula always

When Katara finds out she's pregnant, she's nervous to tell Zuko, since they didn't plan it and she has no idea how he's going to react (we all know, though).

When she does tell Zuko, it looks like this:

Katara (nervous): Zuko, please don't react to what I'm about to say...

Zuko (frowns): what's wrong?

Katara (takes a deep breath): I'm pregnant.

Zuko (freezes and stares at her for a few seconds, then picks her up and spins her around laughing, gently pressing his forehead against her still-flat abdomen): I'm going to be a dad! Spirits I've never been happier in my entire life.

Katara (relieved, mock-offended): excuse me? What about the day we got married?

Zuko: nah, this is so much better. (freezes) Not that the day I married you wasn't the happiest day of my life at the time...

Katara (kisses him): just kidding.

Later that evening, when they're in their bed.

Zuko: my dear, why were you so nervous about telling me?

Katara (sighs): I mean, we didn't plan this...

Zuko: the best surprise of my life.

He pulls her closer against his side.

Katara (curls up against him): hmm... I feel like eating fire flakes for tomorrow breakfast...

Zuko: I'll have someone fetch them for you first thing in the morning.

When they tell the rest of the Gaang + Iroh + Ursa + Hakoda + Kanna + Pakku, the reactions range from:

Suki: what are you naming it?

Aang: that's so cool! The kid is lucky already!

Ursa: Let me know when you'll need help setting up the nursery.

Kanna: I'll stitch some fur blankets for you first thing I get back to my hut.

Through:

Iroh: ahh, see nephew? Destiny is a funny thing.

Pakku (smiles): well, that'll be an interesting thing to watch.

Hakoda (grins): you two don't waste time, do you?
