what makes the montage suisse version special?
On a P220, not very much. They are very similar to their German manufactured and assembled brothers, even if they tend to have a better trigger on average (which is both welcome and not that difficult). The main difference with an Swiss Army P220 is they come with the SIG-Sauer logo instead of the SIG one
and don’t get the federal Cross near the rear sights
On the other hand, the P225 assembled by Hämmerli is a great option to consider since it got the heel magazine release instead of the Browning style one :
a standard police SIG-Sauer P225
and a Haemmerli-assembled P225 (third from the left).
