If Namjoon had a penny for every one of his interns that had asked to scrub in with him, he would be absolutely rich. He never really likedĀ letting his interns scrub in with him, simply because they just werenāt ready for it yet. Once upon a time, intern Namjoon had found it very unfair his resident hadnāt allowed him to, but now he understood quite well. Though he was very confident in his own skills to fix any mistake an intern made, he didnāt like the thought of an intern messing up one of hisĀ surgeries.
Unfortunately, though, his attending was getting on him to let at least one of his interns scrub in with him, so Namjoon had to think hard about who it was going to be. He had a few ideas, but one intern stuck to his mind more than any of the others: Haejoo. She was by far his most talented intern, and if he had to have anyone join him, it would be her. Maybe he was a bit biased, since Haejoo was the only one of his interns Namjoon really got along with, but his attending didnāt really need to know that.
It didnāt take long to locate Haejoo, even after stopping to help a few of his interns along the way. He wasnāt really sure what she was doing, and dināt honestly care, but he didnāt think she would mind if he interrupted her. Though, it wasnāt as if she really had a choice anyway. Stepping into the patientās room, Namjoon called out to her. āHaejoo, can I talk to you for a second?ā Without waiting for a response, Namjoon walked back out, leaning on one of the nearby counters as he waited for her to follow.Ā āI have an open aortic valve replacement Iād like you to scrub in with me for. You think youāre ready for it?ā
