Although Eddie Blake, as we know, never gets a redemption arc, I like to think of the Eddie/Ozzy relationship as of something like that, meaning that Adrian managed to bring out the better man in Eddie. Partly because he actually was practically an angel compared to Eddie back in the beginning of nineteen seventies (which Eddie realised perfectly well), and partly bacause he really did believe in good in people back then, and was a completely different man from what he'd become in the end.
The thing is, Eddie acted so weirdly towards the end, leaving Jacobi/Moloch, Rorschach, readers and viewers alike perplexed. Why did he sob? Was it simply because he was a desperate and broken man by this point and didn't even care any more how he looked? Which is a stark contrast to Eddie's usual behavior throughout his life — he had a habit of looking as if he had not a care in the world even when things got particularly grim.
Or was it because he had genuinely believed that in a horrible world full of mostly awful people (like himself and most people he ever knew) Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias was, at least, truly good and powerful, even a beacon of hope of sorts, for humanity and for himself — only to eventually find out that Adrian, of all people, was probably the most horrible person of all?
This is quite fascinating and calls for theories.
