There's this Mouse RPG called Small Saga. It's usually a little on-the-nose about it's politics and is like, a generally American Left-leaning Queer Furry perspective. Not especially hard-hitting, but perhaps still a little alienating honestly. After an arc, you liberate the tree from the deliberately-fascist squirrels, they are all given a choice of banishment or reform. It's a Redwall-ish setting so banishment isn't weird here.

​I'm going to answer it like this here:

Banishment worked in human history when it was harder to get to places. It was effectively, in many places, a death sentence in all but name. You were expected to die away from home, either by the elements, wildlife, other people or your own hand. Or, as the alternative, just to keep the condemned in a singular place that they knew they could not escape from. Napoleon on Saint Helena (would have said Elba but he escape from there), or Australia, or even the Siberian prisons.

Random loot I assume? Did it just heal ghouls extra fast? Or was it like a "Heal 10 damage, then inflict 4" kind of situation?

​The stated effects were "Deals 50% extra damage to Ghouls". And since the Gamma Gun at its base level only deals Radiation damage...

But yeah, the random effects on Legendary weapons are something else.
