scrapped idea from may that i had for the one year anniv of @ratcarney‘s and my ghost hunters au (@orphydiceunsolved)

a year ago on this day, casu @roadtohadestown made a one-shot post about an orphydice ghost hunters au, and i pounced on it. thanks to that post, i met my second friend in the hadestown fandom.

i have never met anyone like casu. she’s such a star, and i don’t even think she knows exactly how much she shines on everyone around her. i have learned so many things from her—and not just art techniques. she’s kind, and insightful, and funny, and i owe her so much. my life is so much better with her around.

orpheus is a ghost hunter by blood and finds eurydice in one of the abandoned houses that he explores (she’s there because there’s no people to bother and it’s quiet and peaceful. she had no idea it was supposed to be haunted, and even if she did know, it wouldn’t matter, since she doesn’t believe in ghosts anyway).

they meet and after an initial awkward period in which orpheus drops his camera and eurydice has to seek him out to give it back, they start seeing more of each other and start a buzzfeed unsolved-esque series in which they hunt ghosties together. orpheus is dead serious and knows quite a lot about each house they visit and all of the ghosts they (almost) encounter. eurydice doesn’t believe in ghosts, but she does believe in orpheus.
