"I Love You." Canon x Reader Prompt
This is how my F/Os tell you they love you!
As we know, Orochimaru has had a rough life. He lost his parents, his friends, his student and his home. With all that weighing on his shoulders, I doubt he's uttered the word since his childhood, if at all.
Therefore when he's with you, he doesn't say it, he doesn't need to say it. He uses his actions to display how content he is in your company, from tea in the morning, to standing by your side in difficult moments.
To this day neither of you have uttered the phrase "I love you," and will laugh at anyone who tells you it's weird.
Oh, this man will wax his love in poetry if it makes you swoon.
He's the type to say it when he's feeling particularly loved, whether by choice or just blurting it out without thinking. You do a lot for him when he's neck-deep in work, and I can imagine you walking into his office with a coffee, and as you pass it to him he just... tells you without thinking.
"Darling, I thank the stars every day you're by my side. I love you, I hope you know that."
How random this profession is, depends on your reaction, how would you respond to this cute emperor's soft words?
Mereoleona doesn't say the L-word often, but she does say it, especially when she thinks she needs to. I.E. You almost died during battle and need a reminder of why you has to keep fighting and getting stronger. "If you die here, who will watch my back in battle? I don't give my heart to just anyone, you know..."
Or if you're upset over something very serious. In that case she'll press her knuckles to your forehead, and give you a soft pep talk, before replacing her knuckles with a kiss that will tell you everything you need to hear. You're her pride, her pack, her beloved and her partner in combat.
She will always be there for you.
While he is a shy bean, the one time he can truly let himself be heard is when he's singing. Expect song after song during concerts depicting his feelings for you behind the mask of the music's lyrics.
While he may never use your name is in works, you know full well it's you he's singing for and he loves you, so, so much.
In private though, he's far more discreet, muttering it in your hair when he thinks you're asleep, or writing it in little notes as he makes you a lunch for your training in the Wild Area. He's not going to wax poetry or say it loudly in front of tonnes of people, but he'll definitely let you know he's thinking of you.
How can he not? You're his muse!
Doesn't say it first, definitely doesn't say it often.
He's another 'actions speak louder' kind of guy, with his focus being on physical touch and affection. "You're my pillow, my herbivore, my queen." Are about as close as he gets to saying it aloud in a normal conversation.
But he might send you a random text during the day when he wakes up from a nap to find you've gone to a lecture to take notes for him. "So you chose a class over cuddling with me, huh? You're lucky I love you... Hurry back, I need my pillow."
These little texts make you smile every time you get one.
He knows you love his voice, and will make sure you hear as often as you can about how he truly feels. After all, love only holds you together for an instant, so he wishes to ensure in that instant you know just how important you are to him.
Reading a book? "That looks interesting, do you mind if I join you, love?"
Taking a walk? "There's my starlight, how about we watch the stars together, hm?"
One of the sweetest things you've accidentally witnessed is him sitting beside a memorial you both set up for Leola, and telling her every little thing he loves about you, and how he wished she could've met you.
Expect him to be over protective after you both confess your feelings, he's lost people he's loved before, and he's not willing to watch that happen again.
Oh my God, he's so corny it's cute.
He'll start off subtly, complimenting you, flirting with you, and giving you nicknames that others would roll their eyes at usually, but make your heart swell. "Love, Peach, Sweet Pea, Darling, Dove." Anything and everything he can find that will make you blush, he'll use at least once.
However, when it comes to actually sharing his feelings, he'll stall for quite some time, fearing your response. But don't worry, once he shares his love for you, there's nothing stopping him from saying it again, and again, and again.
And he will, he'll use every cheesy line he can find to tell you he loves you, and will shower you in gifts (bought or stolen? It's best not to ask.) All he wants in return, is your heart, which you've happily confessed was his from the start.
Though his brain will shut down for a little bit after you tell him you love him for the first time, give him a kiss to jumpstart it, okay? ;)
