Ravenous Monarch tussock Moth larvae. They have to their way to the very end of the Indian hemp dogbane plant stem. The center photo is the milkweed tussock moth larvae in two stages. This is not a mom and baby this is actually a big larvae in a baby larvae. They will both grow up to turn into moths. Typically they are found on milkweed but they are dining on my Indian hemp Dogbane plant. Milkweed is a member of the Dogbane family. Anything that dines on the white sap of plants in the Dogbane family is toxic. The orange and black colors typically signify to birds that they should not be eaten.

I lose it for a second cause it kinda blends in with the floor and I finally kill it. But fuck I’ve never seen a bug like that thing in my life! And my arm low key kinda hurts where it was at (I think it’s just a scratch from my fingernail but god damn) I won’t be able to sleep for the rest of the night now I bet.
