Hello anon! I absolutely understand what you mean by what your details laid out. There are so many characters I wish were real and even if I know they wouldn't like me, or flat out hate me, it's still part of that fantasy. It's not wrong or bad, though of course I'm not a therapist and if it's affecting your reality then definitely bring it up with them. It doesn't seem to be from qhat you said though :)

Trust me, anyone who is with Dabi would absolutely need to accept any part of him, so there's definitely merit in accepting the warmth and the burns of his fire. And while it's sad that he can't be real, there's something about the commitment that if he was, you'd still accept every part of him. I find that absolutely sweet, and while he may not show his appreciation, I hope you can see that it's something to be proud over.

Selfshipping is just such a fun thing to do, and I hope you never let anyone talk down on your love for Dabi, or make you feel bad because of the kind of person he is. Even in how you said you know he'd just singe you and maybe even kill you shows that level of what others say. (Again, I selfship with very dark characters like Valentino and Strade BTD). I have seen it all, but as long as you know your love is true, then others can just leave you alone. Blocking is a savior for things like that.
