Last week marked our 2 year wedding anniversary, and the struggle to find a gift for Laolu was real! Come and see the stress I put myself through trying to find the 'perfect gift' - is it me or are men actually more difficult to buy for than women?! Anyway, I couldn't find something I liked so I took to @pinterest because I'm a sucker for creativity, and lone behold I found the dopest DIY idea, these 'Open When Letters'! The concept is super simple, and hubby absolutely loved it! I filled 7 envelopes with letters or notes with directions to a hidden gift, and told him he can only open one letter a day for the duration of a week, based on how he feels on each day. The best part of it all is we've made it to day 3, and he has yet to open the 'open when I've annoyed you' envelope 😂! Open when you get a bad grade
Dear Elliott,
I’m not going to sit here and tell you how much better you could have done because I’m definitely not you’re mom and I hope that you know that you could have done better, but I just wanna say that I still love you and that no grade defines you. You do need to try your best, but one grade lower than you hoped isn’t going to kill you. I want the absolute best for you, but there’s nothing I can do or say to make you try your hardest. And if you did try your hardest but still didn’t get the grade that you wanted, then I’m at least proud of your for trying! You’re such a smart guy, and that’s one of the billions of reasons that I love you! So try a little harder next time, but I still love you to pieces!
