âThis has been a very bad week and you just grabbed the last box of my favorite comfort food at the supermarketâ AU Klaine, please?

It has been âŚÂ
A week.
A shitty week in a sea of shitty moments, at the dawn of what looks to be an equally shitty year.
Long story short, Kurt Hummel is not having a good time right now, and he looks forward--nay, he longs for the safety of his home, with the comfort of his soft blanket, of Golden Girlsâ rerun (or Jersey Shore reruns, heâs not exactly picky) and of the content of a tin of PringlesÂŽ Wavy Sweet and Spicy BBQ.
He has his comfort food, and he knows it.
Raiding the supermarket on his way home is the only thing that keeps Kurt away from sitting on the sidewalk and just have a good cry at this point, and he doesnât let anything get in his way.
Which is his only explanation for what happens when he arrives in the snacks aisle and spots a stranger with his (albeit, elegant and manly and wooza, Kurt really has a thing for beautiful hands but he digresses) hand around what looks like the last tin of Sweet and Spicy BBQ.
âNooooooooooooo!â
Yep.
That just happened.
Kurt E. Hummel, usually sane of mind and body, just cried aloud in the middle of the supermarket.
Nothing to see here, people.
At least his outburst got the man to stop in his attempt to steal--yes, it is stealing, because in Kurtâs mind itâs already his okay-- Kurtâs beloved snack.
And now, the Thief is blinking at Kurt.
My, what long eyelashes he has.
Focus, Kurt.
âExcuse me,â Kurt says, approaching the same slowly as not to spook him.
Further.
Not to spook him further.
âIâm sorry for my admittedly weird behavior,â Kurt continues, and the Thief smiles and boy that is distracting, âbut I had a very bad week, and itâs my favorite snack, and--â
âItâs okay,â Thief says, and oh yum, that baritone sounds like honey, âIâve been there. Take it.â
âR-really?â
Their fingers brush when the can passes from Thiefâs hand to Kurtâs, and it legitimately sends shivers down Kurtâs back.
The very good kind of shivers.
âI just wanted to try it, but it can wait. You need them.â
Kurt is not going to cry in the middle of a supermarket because a stranger is showing him some kindness.
Nope.
Okay, his vision may be clouding a little.
âHey.â
Kind stranger is cocking his head to the side, looking at Kurt with concern.Â
âHm?â
âAre you--clearly youâre not okay, but are you, you know, okay?â
âIâve been having a hard time,â Kurt says in one breath. âI miss my dad, Ohio is too far, my friends are all busy and I donât want to be a burden âŚâ
They exchange a smile, wrapped in a bubble of space and time where Kurt doesnât see or hear anyone but his kind stranger.
âMy name is Blaine.â
Kurt looks down at Kind Strangerâs hand, held in front of him in a well-known gesture of meeting.
âOh. K-Kurt.â
âNice to meet you, Kurt,â Blaine says warmly. âI hope that the Pringles will do the trick,â he adds, winking before moving away, grabbing a bag of Sour Cream N Chives popcorn.
Kurt looks at him walking away, stunned into place.
Now thatâs an interesting man who just popped into Kurtâs life, isnât it?

Hey, I just want to tell you how very much I am enjoying your story and how you're mind works, lol. You've got everything in it; from Kurt and Blaine as two extremely horny royals, sprinkled with lots of wonderful family and friends, and some new characters as well (I LOVE Aunt Mildred!) Add to that some really funny lines (I laughed out loud in every chapter, especially the one where Burt opens the closet door and Kurt and Blaine fall out!!) Girl, you ARE funny. Go look in the mirror and tell yourself that; and never doubt it.

"Everybody's Naked & There's a Country to Run" - a cracky take on the trope: royal!Kurt and/or royal!Blaine have to be nude during their wedding ceremony in order to prove to all that they're unarmed.
Now the rambling reply. :)
I know my fics aren't for everyone be they crack or serious and I was worried that aside from a few tagged comments here and on AO3 that most weren't finding this one not very funny and too odd. And now I'm adding some non cracky stuff in order to show I'm trying to make sure it's clear that in this verse, everything is either considered consensual or normal and expected. All the while continuing to try and make it funny. (Like Kurt's embarrassed, but not surprised at what Aunt Mildred does in Chapter 4 thanks to his dad's warning the night before.)
You know, all of those things that go around an author's head on top of finding all the typos and not-quite-right phrasing AFTER they've proofread it a bunch of times, but there they are and it doesn't help that you're trying to write as fast as possible in bits and spurts.
With Aunt Mildred, the character name came from Anne Hathaway who said in an interview she would love to play "Kurt's crazy aunt Mildred." (A name I completely forgot in my Empty Nest verse and by the time I did it was too late to change it.) In this verse, I simply aged her up.
Iâm trying to find a fic, and I cannot remember if itâs a WIP or not. It was multi-part; from HS and beyond, and Kurt and Blaine wind up in Boston, I believe, where Blaine is a lawyer, working for a firm where the owner takes him under his wing. Name is Jim. itâs driving me battyâit was SO good!

This may have been my least favourite character decision of ALL. TIME.
This sort of goes back to the bi blaine thing but even WORSE. When you set up a character a certain way (for FIVE YEARS none the less) to have them suddenly change their minds is very off putting in my opinion.Â
It would have been one thing if she was a chorus girl in the back of some off Broadway show and someone saw her and offered her a TV show. Fine. Sure. Go for it. But when she landed her DREAM ROLE? ON BROADWAY? And left after almost no time at all? *shake my head*
And I know some people will be like âShe was young! She was ambitious! It makes sense!âÂ
No it really doesnât. Rachel may be a lot of things, but I never saw her as stupid or flighty until that moment. She was one of the most driven characters on that show and that move just seemed the opposite of drive. It was stupid.
And yes, I know her decision to leave NYADA after she got Funny Girl seemed flighty, but it actually FIT with her character I felt. Leaving that role after no time to go off and star in a really lame show? Nah, no thanks. Hated it.
