Okay soāits wild that thereās not any actual connection between the Rankin and Bass versions of The Hobbit (1977) and Return of the King (1980) and Ralph Bakshiās Lord of the Rings (1978).
Cos likeā¦ the latter basically covers all of Fellowship and most of Two Towers, and R&Bās RotK basically picks up the story at around the same point. Supposedly this is a coincidence, but as a kid it was like, āman this trilogy takes a WEIRD pivot in the middle.ā
