can Royal MC just be like "fuck this. im going back abroad" when/if the marriage talks with Dasha/Sasha come up? i'd love to see a black sheep of the family MC be quite the revolutionary and just refuse to engage with marriage talks, especially with Sasha since they love them platonically and believe incest is gross after spending time away from court (maybe they'd need to be quite oblivious to not realise Sasha is a freak and is advancing on them, given the game mechanics of marriage talks coming up or not, idk how you plan on going about it)
thing is, its gonna be hard for them to be a revolutionary, because, flatly? Abraim and Albina are already refusing marriage. Ofeliya is another one that never got married, and had her child out of wedlock.
The way marriage is treated for them is more of an "escape". No mater what your age, all unmarried children stay in their parent's house, and we all know the only way to feel like a person is to escape your parent's home.
If you don't officially marry, and go down a route of having a love affair with the un-marriable characters, or not romance anyone, there is the overwhelming feeling of not having the freedom you had before, at the health resort.
That's why I dub Dasha a marriage of convenience, because Dasha is down to marry even before any feelings and is the one seen as a good candidate for it, since they get a step into the royal lineage and a higher station, and the Royal gets a LOT of freedom, as well as a deeply advantageous pairing.
Sasha is never a marriage candidate outside when you're already on their romance path. Mama will never recommend them as someone to be married off to, and when they push for it on the romance path, she doesn't like it.
I have a stance, that the only true thing that the Royal has going for them outside of maybe looks, is that they're a royal. They're not that powerful, they struggle to break through of anything on their own, and even if they think they're better than their siblings and is more like Pasha due to leaving and living abroad, that just plain untrue. The thought of them, thinking they could be a revolutionary would be embarrassing if they ever brought it up, because of their siblings. Don't want to get married? Get in line, Pavel, Abraim and Albina are already there. Want to marry someone below their station? Stanislav is right there. Power hungry? Sasha has already licked that plate fuckin clean. Proud for "leaving the nest"? Pavel has been fighting for over a decade now, and Aksana is packing up her entire life, planning to never return or not even visit that much, to live in the Isles.
Genuinely, its framed that marriage would be the only way for the Royal to stand out, because they are frankly beating ALL the other siblings to the altar, getting a more independent life and houeshold, etc. Its depressing, but sadly, Royal just ain't that remarkable outside of a few things.
If you want someone deeply remarkable, look at the Servant :}
