My apologies for being late on this, but I’m gonna level with you all. In the wake of the Kreisberg News, that whole Karamel thing really does come off as a lot creepier now the more I think about it.
I think I need to lie down for a while. Try and calm down. Please understand, for myself and other Sanvers supporters, the past week hasn’t been easy to deal with as it is. Now this. Now me, just another idiot guy finally beginning to process the past year from Creative. Processing the need to let me know that Mon-El was becoming an end all be all for Kara when all I needed from Supergirl was for her to focus on building herself up and being the best inspiration for her team, family , and the rest of National City.
Instead she got hit with Moist Kryptonite and it wouldn’t be so bad if she were still able to focus on bettering herself and eventually the two realizing they rather dig each other and it’s okay. Instead, Supergirl became Mon-El Matters, all while so many of us were too busy focusing on something far more special developing between Alex and the newcomer we quickly grew to love, Maggie.
Maggie became the Lara Perkins of Supergirl, little used, little respected, but such a solid character and equally solid actor portraying her.
I feel disgusted. Disgusted with Creative for mishandling the greatest sure thing of any show I watch. Disgusted with Kreisberg for obvious reasons that don’t even involve Creative. Disgusted with the push to continue making Mon-El this relevant thing. Disgusted with myself not understanding the criticisms of Karamel. Especially with myself with this being what it took for all to finally click.
This past week as has sucked for me as a Supergirl fan. It’s just getting worse and now I’m wondering if there’s a point to even watching any of these shows.
