fshsj okay prefacing this by saying that i found the album enjoyable and the songs are good individually (well most of them) !!

the biggest shortcoming of the album is the tracklist which is bad and messy and is detrimental to the album imo. bcs this album has songs with different vibes and atmospheres, having such a jumpy and nonsensical tracklist makes it appear even more messy and jarring than what it already is. like opening the album by going from darling to hot is so so foolish to me, as well as closing the thing with ash when if you leave me was literally right there! imo it also makes certain songs feel out of place within the album, like darling doesnt make sense within the context of the album if placed first imo and rather appears kind of just thrown in there at random. whereas a better tracklist wouldve made it seem more seamless overall

moreover, i think this album has a problem with creating its own persona and character, and feels to me rather derivative and anonymous, especially in the context of svt’s discography. if i were to write an article, i would write “it’s ironic that an album called ‘face the sun’ is so faceless” and i think that sums up my thoughts pretty well
