Hi! I've been a long time follower of this blog, and I know you're a fan of your Oxford handbooks! Im going to start my clinical years this year, going into 3rd and wondered if you had any tips and how you used your Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine for it? Thank you!!!
Hi! Yes I do love the oxford handbooks haha. I didnât really have clinical years like you, but for placements I just think its good to have the oxford handbook in your bag to refer to things. So like, if you see a condition at placement, you can quickly use your handbook, which I find really handy for learning. It also has good pages on how to do clinical skills and procedures if you get to do any of those!
Also theyâre great for reading up on the basics of a specialty. So say you have a gastro placement, read through the gastro section of the clinical handbook before you start and youâll probs be golden.
I have some tips on clinical placements here! x
