Background:

Obviously they’re both playing at UConn rn and they’re best friends, but they’ve been best friends since U16 (2017) like they said in their SLAM interview.

2017:

U16 Fiba tournament: USA wins and they fly back to Minnesota together. Paige is obviously from Minnesota, but Azzi’s grandparents also live in Minnesota. 

Obviously they bond and become close because proximity and they probably just clicked

There are pics of them at the airport of them waiting to fly back

2018:

U17 Fiba tournament: USA wins. You can tell they’re a lot closer and in the streams you can see them do their handshake before every game and they just tend to gravitate toward each other when they’re playing especially after huddles or during free throws

2019:

March: Paige and Hopkins win the State Championship and you can see Azzi in the stands cheering her on with a blue jersey (pretty sure it’s the Team Paige glitter one) and pompoms. Bonus Jalen Suggs is also there (I think the whole section behind the basket on the Hopkins side is mostly Paige’s friends and family)

April: Paige commits to UConn and starts recruiting Azzi before that since they visited together

April: Azzi tears her ACL at USA basketball and they have that pic of Paige crying over her and more distraught than her

July: Azzi misses USA U19’s, but Paige gets MVP

August: They started their joint tiktok page and hung out in the summer I think in Minnesota (RIP whitechocolate535 i’ll mourn you forever)

Their families went on a cruise together but I can’t remember what year (they’re pics of this too)

2020: 

Azzi definitely came to visit at some point - there’s a pic with them and Christian who did the Hopkins SLAM series. She was also at a State Tournament game wearing the team Paige jersey again (Paige has a Team Azzi one)

Covid hits and lockdown happens, school gets pushed back

Paige’s dad moves to Maryland after she graduates, so now she’s closer to Azzi in the DMV area (she explains it a little bit in her IG interview with Stewie). 

Paige went and just stayed with Azzi’s family for a while

They did the videos on Azzi’s youtube (21 questions and the haircuts for Azzi’s brothers) and lots of tiktoks

They go to Sun games with the team during summer session - they’re usually always sitting next to each other during these

Azzi goes to Minnesota to see her grandparents and goes to the Minnesota State Fair. She brings Paige back snacks and plushies and then posted on her IG stories “She couldn’t go to the fair so I brought the fair to her” and the way Paige looks at her in it…you know the exact look I’m talking about the Azzi heart eyes 

Azzi posted some tiktoks one was a story and one I think she deleted but the way she touches Paige’s hips and pushes her a bit was very girlfriend

Paige went to LA to do rehab for a bit before the season started

She posted 2 tiktoks and on one of them Azzi commented “Mid” and deleted it

Season finally starts: Azzi is killing it and Paige is her biggest cheerleader and advocating for her to be NPOY, always hyping her up during a timeout/halftime/postgame

Phil Knight Tournament: when they watched the MBB team

vs. Alabama: Originally Paige is sitting at the end of the row next to Amari, but Paige and Azzi leave to get a drink during halftime and come back. Paige moves over toward Azzi and sits on hers and Aaliyah’s laps for a bit. Eventually the team moves over so Paige can sit next to Azzi 

Final: they pan to the team and you can see Paige talking/looking at Azzi and poke her cheek

2023: 

Azzi gets hurt and they have to be bench buddies - literally can’t not sit next to each other. Need to always be together

The bench moments: they’re always joking around, holding hands (?), there were some tiktok comments saying how they were messing around the whole time and Azzi threw a ball at Paige’s butt and then laughed and jumped on her or something

During stretching/shootaround they do 1v1 messing around

They sit next to each other at dinner (in Caroline’s Thanksgiving snap)

When Azzi got hurt originally and reaggravated her knee, Paige checked on her multiple times and was like “are you really ok”

They’re always checking on each other and trying to cheer each other up

Ice’s live at Ted’s: This was an all around terrible idea because the team was LIT. That moment and Ice’s immediate reaction was very telling. Also her and Caroline trying to be like “What are you guys talking about? You didn’t see anything. Paige and Azzi who?” 

KK’s live with Paige and Ice: Ice is banned from live, Paigee says no more lives when she’s…, every time someone mentions Azzi or Azzi having a bf Paige gets a look and looks at the other girls. KK saying probably to Azzi being with her bf comment and Paige just scratching her head and KK has to move off camera to laugh

SUMMER: After the team’s lives exposing them and UConn finished their summer session: 

Paige goes back to Minnesota to see her family (coaches the Pro-Am game) and Azzi commented and deleted on her post “Take my fit off 😒”

Paige literally just took Azzi's whole fit from the Sza concert, though I think the pink t shirt is Paige's since she wore it when they were courtside at a Mystics game in 2022. But the whole fit is probably Paige’s anyway lol

Azzi goes to Minnesota to see her grandparents and watch Dorka play (Paige was in Kentucky) wonder if she used the Dorka jersey Paige bought

Azzi posts IG story of them camping together sharing a tent and bed that dumb ass welcome to our tent was very domestic 

Dorka comes the next day and they go fishing/tubing

I think Azzi went back first but Paige also goes back to the DMV

They go to the Drake concert together and are in VIP - Azzi posts a story of them girlfriend coded as hell

Paige helps Azzi with her camp on both days and the video of them playing 2v2 is v cute. They’re super competitive. Paige makes a shot and tells Azzi to shut up when Azzi said nope. Paige is super touchy

EUROPE TRIP:

They went to the football home opener. Sat together at some point bc there’s a pic of them and a fan with Paige wearing a stupid hat 😭

MINNESOTA BESTIES:

Paige, Azzi and Ines went to Minnesota for Labor Day

Azzi met up with her parents, grandparents and other family

Paige was with her aunt and I think her mom and siblings were there too

Azzi and Paige each went with their families, Ines and Dorka went together to the fair and all met up and hung out. Dorka and Ines tapped out early

Paige stayed with Azzi’s family until the night (Azzi’s mom’s IG stories you can hear and see her), plus Azzi’s fair recap on IG

They went to the Lynx game and I think they went with Paige’s family because her grandpa was sitting next to her and you can see her siblings in the row below next to Ines. 

Then Paige and Azzi went to see Jon in college and drop off fair goodies since he couldn’t go to the fair (cute how they’re really family and the fair is part of their tradition bc Azzi did the same with Paige last year)

They went to the women’s soccer game and Paige as always looks very much in love with Azzi

They went to the volleyball game with Ice, KK, and Kayla
