What's your opinion on Luis
He's... fine. I still think his head is bigger than his muscles. That, and he hasn't done anything even half as useful as Hazel. And I am a little upset he went ahead and saved Red but left the rest of us behind.
But it's fun hanging out with him, and he can be funny when he wants. Sometimes he's too clueless for his own good but he's so endearing and genuine that I can't really hate him for it.

So, Luis Madrigal. I've seen people complain that it doesn't make sense for him to have the same powers as his mom within the Encanto lore and 1- you're right, it doesn't 2- this is descendants, it's not like they've ever cared about making sense and 3- I think I found two situations in which it could make sense
In Encanto it's shown that there is at least some correlation between each character's personality and their powers so maybe he admired his mom and wanted to be like Luisa so much that he got the same powers because of that
This one's angstier but Encanto kind of is about Mirabel getting passed down abuela's role as keeper of the candle so Luis having the same powers could imply that he's meant to fill Luisa's absence, specially with how important she is for the whole village. What I'm saying is that Luisa is going to die. Young. And Luis is the backup plan.
