lol gosh i forgot how chilly it would be.

The sun was going down about 16:30, so it was lots of early evenings for me, because I had packed warm, but not warm enough to be out at night ;A; like it was crazy cold. Still, got to watch the entire first season of Welcome to Sweden on Norwegian Netflix, which I can’t get on Netflix UK!! Victory!

It was so lovely, and I’m definitely going again sometime. But it was also one of the weirdest places to visit?? A lot more like the UK in a lot of ways than The Netherlands, Denmark, or Sweden. I’d love to see more than just Oslo though, Oslo really reminded me a lot of a cleaner, nicer, Manchester.

ahhh thanks Kari!! The boss is really nice, and the interview was honestly almost completely stress free and laid back, so that was awesome.

1. My friends; I have been blessed with a handful of incredibly talented people who I am so happy to be able to call my friends. They enrich my life with their curiosity, their skill, their kindness, and their generosity. 

2. Exploration; I love wandering off and finding new places and getting a feel for my locale. I’ve moved about five times in the last ten years; including a major cross country haul, so absent of roots and history I get to discover places with new eyes.  

3. Travelling; I really like seeing more of the world. I’m constantly gripped by a sense of ‘this can’t be it’ and going out there and witnessing more satisfies that feeling. I want to see so much and go to so many places, as many places as possible. With a hope that one day in the distant future I can emigrate. (There are a couple of countries I really like and feel at home in- and it’d be nice to expand that list!)

4. Gaming; I love it, I love the people I’ve met through it, people I’ve met because of it. Gaming is a thing which can satisfy my desire for a grown up version of a ‘choose your own adventure’ book as well as my fussy ‘must do everything’ nature. It’s a hobby and a passion which can move with my mood and is flexible in its nature. It’s my go to place when I’m feeling down because it provides structure and distraction and has quite honestly saved my life at least once.

Thank you all so much for your kindness, I really really appreciate it, and it helped calm me down last night. So sincerely, thank you. 

I am not in a good place mentally at the moment and I need to work out how to get through this. And I think that is going to involve a little going quiet on here (who am I kidding, I bet I’ll be back and posting at full pelt by the weekend), a little pruning of who I’m following and pruning of my back catalogue of posts. 

As much as venting helps at the time, having a near permanent record of when I’m feeling like shit is less productive and ends up reinforcing my bad feelings. It’s stuff like this that lead to me nuking my old Live Journal many many years ago. So... like, this isn’t going to become rainbows and unicorns but I need to find a way to deal with things that isn’t just giving breath to everything I hate about myself.
