Tragic character arcs are always such a fascinating thing. Watching how they grow and develop and change, how the world warps them and how they warp it right back, how they fight and fight and fight and keep fighting to still be the person that they used to be, only to discover that in their fighting they changed into something unrecognizable. Into someone who would look at themself from 20, 10, 5 years ago and see not a reflection but a memory. A stranger, even. So much can change in even short periods of time when time is your greatest enemy.
