andy ramble about any of your ocs challenge [gun] this is a threat
aaaaaaa!! yISS so many of my OCs have some kind of super ability because why not (itâs cool) and though i have bastard OCs iâve found it easier to integrate that with babey more or less. a few of them are reserved and bitter, like Andy and Carl due to particularly bad circumstances, but others remain steadfast and take no shit like Veronica, a 5â˛11âł secret agent lesbian who doesnât feel comfortable âcompetingâ on a similar level with Rex Dasher, but they are nonetheless friends especially when they get used to being on assignments with each other.
Kevin has also got super abilities but heâs more of the babey of them, unfortunately due to trauma from parents heâs got anxiety issues and stresses super easily. He can shapeshift but has trouble controlling it sometimes, especially when he gets overwhelmed, and unfortunately trying to hide it as heâs learnt to when he can accidentally shapeshift through stress is a massive problem. The only people who really know about it are Nauls (who he grew up with in kindergarten) and Norris; he also has ADHD and plays with a Rubix cube as a fidget toy for both that and his anxiety and when heâs particularly stressed either of them find it for him. Itâs the symbol for him and the first thing that came into my head when making him, because rubix cubes are super 80s and nEAT.
Like some of them have not so good backgrounds - Kevinâs mother found out about his shapeshifting and guilted him into hiding it from his dad but his dad eventually found out and he overheard his parents arguing about not wanting him to be one of them so he ran away at 16 and lived with Nauls from then on.
Celpaxtri, or Pax for short, is a half cat, half humanoid alien that has amnesia and is of unknowable age, and unfortunately in either my playmobil or thing au of xem they suffer trauma through scientific experimentation because either 1) this alien is a threat but could be of great use to *certain people* or 2) some people become suspicious especially when a certain alien thing comes around and there is a desire to *find out more*. But xe can lash out if attacked, with an ability to electrocute others when scared or angry, and has eyes that glow red in the dark with additional night vision. Due to the cat gene, they can also hang upside down, sleep croissant style and have incredible cat like agility and stamina as a result. They pretty much want to chill and vibe and will curiously listen to people or do things that look interesting and even if they donât trust easily, will be happy in making friends with others.
Carlisle, or Carl for short, is a secret agent with both telepathic and telekinetic powers that theyâve kept under wraps for so long due to pressure from others that they donât expect may bubble to the surface at the wrong moment and get out of control. Itâs the main reason theyâre so prone to migraines because theyâve had to hide their abilities for a ton of reasons and so the result wonât be good when it all comes crashing out and having someone like Rex around, a compassionate individual who doesnât give up on people, who finds out the truth makes them both scared and angry when he talks to them about it.
Andy is the one I got my name from because it sounded cool, but unfortunately they got abducted from Earth and have spent most of their life wanting to be alone and reserved and just...to vibe in their spaceship. When they eventually meet their biological father, they obviously donât trust at first and this is when their abilities become a lot more evident, like how their emotions affect the intensity of stuff like telekinesis. Iâve said a lot about them before - their dad, Ego, is an absolute bastard and killed Andyâs mother and now theyâre the right choice to be able to carry on this legacy of the Expansion to assimilate the galaxy or whatever, just like in the film. Theyâre not having a good time, clearly, and have to survive however they can whilst making every attempt to obliterate the bastard and find a way off the godforsaken planet.
Abigail, or Abbey for short due to Abbey Rhodes (ha!), loves the Beatles and actually chose her name based on that when she came out as trans. She wants to study astronomy at uni and has wholesome parents who lend her some vinyls and she and her dad manage to find her an antique record player so she can listen to Beatles vinyls whenever, even at uni. Sheâs a naturally happy and bubbly person and enjoys hanging out with her friends, looking at the stars and eating gelato. I feel Veronica, my secret agent lesbian, would be super protective of her if she ever came across her since she doesnât take any shit.
Abbey is one of my OCs that has a lot more of a wholesome backstory which makes a real change too, since Veronica, like my other OCs with abilities, has had to hide her ability to become invisible and manipulate fire from those who have wanted her for them as well as trying not to feel bitter at feeling in the shadow of Rex being equally if not more proficient at being a secret agent.
None of my OCs are straight and generally arenât cis either; Iâm pan aroace nonbinary and feel more comfortable designing OCs like this. Pax is pan pangender, Andy is aroace transmasc enby, Carl is bi bigender, Veronica is a lesbian, another one of my secret agent OCs Dustin (who is pretty much a Rex Dasher OC) is a pan trans man, Abbey is a trans ace lesbian, Pepper (the evil clown scientist dude I designed to oppose Dustin with the classic hero/villain dynamics) is a bi demimale and Kevin is a gay ace transmasculine enby.
I have other OCs that I havenât really talked about, especially a new one revolving around Rexâs ex-girlfriend he had at university but unfortunately though it was pretty much his only real serious relationship, he couldnât really commit due to a whole lot of personal issues, they split up. He eventually bumps into her years later when sheâs engaged to someone else whilst also expecting a kid, and he clearly canât tell her what heâs been up to. This is especially not to get her hurt because he wants her to be happy and has to hide a LOT about his connections so certain people wonât reveal sensitive information about them that he has. So far a name I have for her is Julia, and she really does care about him and cares enough about him that sheâs tactful about things when they meet up. She is concerned about his wellbeing and knew he couldnât manage to commit. She does care but sheâs...with someone else instead.
