HATCHETFIELD TAROT (OC Edition): Gin Martinez
faceclaim: Jae Hughes
Gin's favorite thing about being a bartender was hearing each passing conversation, watching chaos ensue throughout the night, and providing their two cents for every debate the patrons wanted them to weigh in on. There's a subtle level of influence that kind of position affords. Now that they serve a higher power, it's become all the more enticing.
They mainly work for Tinky, Blinky, and sometimes Nibbly. The oldest and youngest Lords in Black don't find themselves interested in Gin's services. Pokey especially. He's not going to let a human call any shots for him. Wiggly just doesn't enjoy getting involved in Middle Sibling Buffoonery(tm) more than he has to lol. He has Wilbur, anyway.
Their relationship to Wilbur is v funny to me. Gin's feathers get rustled any time Wilbur tries to ask for a favor bc he's not their boss, but they aren't enemies by any means. Clocking in for a day at the Evil Factory and sometimes you see that coworker from the other floor and poke at each other verbally for some stimulation during water cooler breaks.
Gin holds no false notion that the Lords in Black won't toss them aside should they do anything displeasing to their cosmic whims. They went into their deal with eyes wide open. Tinky, Blinky, and Nibbly rarely find a reason to discard Gin, because there's so many other interesting targets to reel into their games. Gin can suggest something new, masochistic, and puzzling from a human perspective and that's helpful.
Tinky loves to sic Gin on Ted, and Gin has a particular affinity for Olive Lipschitz. Olive, of course, has a very toxic situationship with Ted, so those two become the Ref's prime players in most timelines. TL;DR, if you go to the bar and this is your bartender, you're about to have the best cocktail of your life but in return you will then be bet on in Eldritch Fantasy Football, so. Maybe have a beer at home!
