desire hunt and midnight for an oc of your choice!!!
been pondering this all day actually and i think i wanna answer for zepha >:)
desire: What's one thing your OC wants more than anything in the world? Are they open with that desire? Why or why not? What would they do to fulfill it?
i think at the core of it all, zephaniah wants to justify its existence. being a reanimated cadaver of someone whose death meant so little to the people around it, how do you cope with that? how do you come back and realize that the world didn't stop breathing with you? but zepha isn't even fully self-aware of this desire itself, much less open about it with anyone. which is convenient enough because the only "person" they associate with is another affront to every divine creator, who would kill it with no remorse. so zepha doesn't quite know how to express desire because it's not aware of the desire. if you were to ask it, it would say that it can't feel desire at all, as it is not a human. and this hollow fire where meaning should be is hastily fed by copious violence. if death means so little, who cares right?
hunt: Who or what is your OC hunted by? A person, a feeling, a past mistake? Is your OC able to let their guard down, or are they constantly alert
if you want a really literal answer, iris is technically hunting zephaniah, being its handler. echo/atlas/caerus are also at odds with it to some degree. the more vague answer is that zepha is chased by this constant feeling of injustice, that the circumstances of its death were not fair, the way its family carried on wasn't fair, being brought back to life just to hunt down its brother isn't fair. zepha, to its detriment, is too trusting, particularly in the case of cain (aforementioned "person", hi mercury!). in zepha's desperation to have anyone on its side, it clings to cain to an unnerving degree. sure, the two are wary around each other, but zepha would consider them friends while i'm sure cain would liken it more to a leech
midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping?
being not-really-human, zepha doesn't really have much need to sleep, so it's up late near constantly. it used to tuck itself hidden into small corners in its observation room, to see if it'd fit and to see how long it took anyone to notice. once zepha escapes with cain, it looks at the leaves in trees a lot (it's different from looking through the castle windows). zepha tries not to think too deeply about its fears and such, not the deep-seated ones anyway. usually it just watches cain sleep.
