Weekend productivity has been engaged!
So far, I’m only showing you the before pictures of the guest room and Kevin’s office, in all their messy glory. Saturday was off to a rocky start and there was a good half hour where I thought I was going to have to do all the work by myself but Kevin stepped up big time and we both put in a solid three hours of effort to clear out his office. All that remains in there now is the desk, printer on a table, and two full bookshelves.
Since his desk is a monster and we didn’t want to injure ourselves or anyone we know in attempting to bring it down our steep, narrow staircase, I reached out and got a couple quotes from movers. On Tuesday some hired help will bring the desk and bookshelves down and move the crib, stroller, and other boxes upstairs and whatever else I can have them do in the hour we hired them for.
Don’t fret, I’ll be keeping you updated along the way and doing a full before and after post upon completion, because those kind of posts are my favorite to read from others :) @beenjen asked about a nursery theme, and while I have no specific theme I plan on painting the walls a slate blue and accenting that with white furniture. I’ve also asked my bff, an artist who makes happy drawings, to draw me some black and white images for Erp’s room to be hung in white frames. I want the room to be calming, charming and simple.
In order to get up my muster for the activity ahead on Saturday I grabbed my “Yes You Can” mug and got in lots of Saki snuggles. Weird that these loving photos with my cat will soon be pics with my daughter. Still can’t quite understand how that’s a coming reality for me. Never fear, Saki will always be a top priority in my life and will still dominate this blog.
Sunday started out slow and lovely, though I found myself feeling extra tired and uncomfortable. Any time I’m on my back I feel like a turtle trying to get up. Yes, please enjoy that mental image.
For breakfast Kevin and I went to a new (to us) spot and got to bypass the huge line of waiting patrons by eating at the bar. After I quickly downed by first cup of coffee, Kevin was so cute in making sure to tell the waitress exactly why I wanted to switch to decaf (calling out the pregnancy). I love hearing him boast about this change in our lives in little ways :)
Now, to spend the rest of the day making more impact on the two rooms and writing thank you cards before my Virginia baby shower next Saturday.
Happy it’s-still-the-weekend to you :)
