she lets out a soft laugh that ends in a grimace and a short cough.

beau has worked hard at not feeling guilty for her actions. or, more accurately, she’s worked hard at not caring enough about anyone to ever possibly feel guilty.

but that day with the dragon.....

every moment keeps repeating in her mind. everything she did wrong.

she can’t stop seeing her hand hitting stone, ripping her from her friends. she can’t stop seeing jester’s face as she appeared back on the boat; an expression beau had never witnessed on her. not even after the rescue from the slavers.

she isn’t quite sure how to go about this, but talking to nott seems easier than going straight to jester.

so she waits until nott is away from caleb- searching her out below deck as she fiddles with some gun powder.

she clears her throat, leaning against the door frame and trying her best to not look as awkward as she feels.

“ hey- uh- nott. can i talk to you for a second? just about... some shit... “
