thinking about how after finally admitting her feelings for jester to someone, beau almost immediately started to distance herself. taking the opportunity, for the first time ever, to have her own room even though her pain at doing so was obvious. thinking about how it speaks so much to that lesbian fear of taking advantage of your friend just by being around them when they don’t know your feelings. that fear of being predatory by loving them

and thinking about how, if beau continues to pull away, jester won’t know why. jester who grew up without a friend and was made too often to feel that love and companionship was conditional. all she’ll know is her best friend, who’s been at her side and has loved her unconditionally until now, is suddenly not as close to her. doesn’t want to be around her. and how jester will think it’s something she did or something about her. how it’d be that pure sadness and hurt that we got only a glimpse of when she though beau didn’t want to room with her, only on a much larger and deeper scale
