So uh I dunno if this is an unpopular opinion, but⊠media nowadays is much too serious! Like, toons ân stuff. Existential dread.
Let me explain. Has anyone here watched the new, for example, The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball? I tried to watch through, but⊠it just wasn't fun. It just all felt awfully dreadful.
It happens in the indie projects, too. For TADC, I absolutely loved and adored the first episode, and the second one was pretty good⊠but now it just feels TOO sad. It's ok for me if it has, you know, a consecutive conflict⊠but I just hate to see my shows and such take the gloomy path.
Thereâs more shows, games, platforms, franchises⊠that just have lost their charm for me. I feel like we get enough of it in real life, in the waking world or whatever. I want whimsy. I want what we had back. It hurts to see a lot of this go away.
