This is how Depression goes. It is a battle. Every day you fight. Sometimes the most little and insignificant thing can send you spiraling into the worst place you can ever imagine as a person. It can be literally “a living nightmare”. But I took something that was literally kicking my ass, and made something good from it. I found 10 extremely talented women, and together, we are working on releasing a pattern called “Burkholder Shawl” in late May. May is mental health awareness month. It is also the birth month of my baby girl. She is my reason for being. Why call it “Burkholder”?: As many of you also know, aside from knitting, my other passion is riding my beautiful Thoroughbred/Fresian Mare, Beauty. Her full Equestrian name is Beautiful Ambition. And the farm she is boarded at is on a road called “Burkholder”. When I was away, I literally spent almost every day at the barn. There, she taught me why she lives up to her name. And why every day, you choose to fight, you win a small victory. Follow these women. They all have their own story to tell, and they will forever have a special place in my heart.
