I can't find the post but there's this one post that's like "aging is less than 1% as terrifying as whatever the fuck is going on with people desperately trying not to age"
That but with weight.
Getting or being fat is less than 1% as terrifying as whatever the fuck is going on with people desperately trying to not be fat.

Doctors are professionals, not authorities, they are supposed to work with you not make choices for you, if your doctor does not listen to you, does not respect you, and will not compromise with you, then it's not unreasonable to want a different one.
Being fat is the best thing that ever happened to me, because it forced me to unlearn the shame I was sold. I used to think I had to shrink myself, cover up, blend in. I thought confidence was something reserved for six-packs and slim-fit tees. But here’s the truth: confidence is the real flex. Not abs, not a number on the scale. Walking into a room knowing you look good in your body? That’s power. I don’t dress to disappear, I dress to be seen.
in all seriousness @ previous anon, find a healthcare provider who is weight-neutral. if you take a look around the resources section on my home page, you’ll find the reasons why I will always recommend that to everyone.
here is ASDAH (Association for Size Diversity and Health)'s section on prediabetes in their HAES health sheets:
What about prediabetes?
Prediabetes is a controversial diagnosis that was strongly lobbied for by pharmaceutical companies (which are currently developing at least 10 drugs to “treat” this condition). Important things to know when discussing the validity of a prediabetes diagnosis:
The American Diabetes Association (ADA) lowered the blood sugar threshold that is considered “prediabetic” in 2004, and lowered the hemoglobin A1c threshold in 2010, creating about 72 million new cases in the US. These changes were made without
adequate research evidence, and were later adopted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
Under the newest definition of prediabetes, about 1 in 3 people in the US is considered prediabetic.
The majority of people with prediabetes do not progress to T2D and there is no clear evidence that “treatment” of prediabetes impacts progression.
Studies have not shown an increased risk of cardiovascular disease in those with prediabetes and there is no clear evidence that treating prediabetes will decrease the risk of progression to diabetes.
A number of factors can contribute to an increased risk of T2D including weight cycling (yo-yo dieting) but T2D is predominantly a genetic c

There are a lot more factors at play in diabetes — more complicated than, “I had a cupcake at lunch.”

Being a super fat person with diabetes who chooses to embrace their size and not lose weight during the Ozempidemic is especially harrowing. At every turn multiple times a day, lets be honest multiple times per hour at this rate, an ad is telling you to take a GLP-1 agonist drug of some kind. At every appointment your doctor will push it on you. Family members will ask if you’ve considered it. Thankfully my friends know better.
The ads though. They’re really getting to me. They’re incessant and they’re everywhere. Every screen, every app, every website or show. If they have ad space it’s being used to sell GLP drugs. If you’re diabetic and fat you’re treated like an idiot for having boundaries and exercising bodily autonomy. Like a flock of insistent crows following you around stalking you everywhere. They caw and squawk.
“It will fix you, you’ll be perfect, you’ll be happy, you’ll be acceptable, you’ll be good. Just try it. It will be good for you. You will love it. Join us. Submit. Stop resisting. Be one of the good reasonable fat people. Become part of the Ozepidemic.”
These messages are insidious and unavoidable. Once an advertising tracking service figures out you’re fat it gets even worse and they seem to triple in number. They make the experience of just existing as a fat person a daily psychic battle with billion dollar drug manufacturers who want you to give in and take their magic elixer that they promise will give you vitality and happiness.
It really starts to wear on your soul.
So for these reasons I feel I must loudly and with both lungs filled to bursting cry out.
Absolutely not! Fuck this! Fuck you, and fuck your drugs! Fuck the facist body culture that only cares about your ability to produce value for shareholders! Fuck the evil rich who see us as guinea pigs for them to inject experimental weight loss medications into because it ads to their disgusting hoard of wealth! Fuck being palatable! Fuck being a good acceptable fat person! And most of all fuck the goddamn Ozempidemic!
