@nomatterthecost replied to your post āā:
From Kate!
"Oh, my g-d! Crap. Sorry! I didn't hear you coming. Quiet walker, you are," He laughed off his own yelp of surprise. He wasn't usually so easy to sneak up on, but he pulled a headphone off to free one ear. "Snuck up on me a bit. Can I help you?"
āĀ nobodyĀ everĀ treatedĀ meĀ kindly .Ā ā
((@nomatterthecost for Clint!))
Clint had most serious look on his face. " Give me names" sure he might of fell off ledge and he might have headache. But. Nobody hurt his friends or family
Critical Role Sentence Starters in many ways you are my total opposite. but you are also my best friend.
āIf thatās the case, then you need to get some better friends.ā Seriously, Hawkeye was right to be wary of him. Jason wasnāt exactly the most stable person around, and he had more issues than Vogue. āSeriously, are we just ignoring the murdering and crime-lording, now? And the fact that you donāt actually know who I even am? I could be the Zodiac Killer, for all you know.ā Because, unlike her, he actually had a secret identity. Kept his face hidden beneath a helmet, whenever he joined in on one of the Young Avengersā team-ups.
Not that the Red Hood was actually a Young Avenger. Heād never accepted that offer, turned it down every time it was made, because while he might be crazy, he wasnāt deluded. He knew he wasnāt the right fit for a team like that. Bad enough the were seen working with a criminal, once in a while. That could at least be chalked up to the Red Hood not wanting the world to end because he lived there. Adding someone like him on as an active team member would tank peopleās trust in the Young Avengers. Jason might not be a good guy, but he could see how much good they did. Theyād have a much harder time doing that if people didnāt believe in them. āCome on, Kate, you canāt be that bad a judge of character.ā

@nomatterthecost wanted Cass
The girl in purple with the strange-looking weapon (a curved stick with string connecting both ends, and more smaller, sharp sticks to go with it) was tied to a chair. Captured. Purple Girl was still talking, pretending to be brave, but the weapon could see the worried, nervous, scared behind all the words. Could read the hurt in the way she held herselfāsheād been injured, but was hiding how bad, not wanting her captors to know.
She needed help, and the weapon didnāt know if help was coming, or, if they were, if theyād make it there on time. Because the men with Purple Girl were angry, impatient, annoyed. Getting closer to hurting Purple Girl more, the more she talked. They had their own weapons, too; the small, loud ones that fit in hands and made holes in bodies. Purple Girl didnāt have any way to defend herself.
It wasnāt difficult to dispatch of the men. There were only eight, after allāthe weapon had been trained to fight many more than that, at onceāand she was able to pick most of them off one by one, while sneaking through the shadows, before the remaining four realized something was wrong. The fight with them was barely a fight at all. It certainly wasnāt anything difficult; the men didnāt get the chance to use their loud weapons, and she wasnāt even out of breath by the time they were all on the ground, unmoving (sheād checked and they were all still breathing, still alive, just sleeping-but-not).
She looked around again to make sure none of them would be getting up any time soon, then silently made her way over to Purple Girl. Frowned at the thin, silver bindings the men had used to restrain her. That was the sticky kind, the stuff that was difficult to rip, when so many layers had been used. Easier to cut. She patted Purple Girlās hands gently, tried to copy the smiles sheād seen people make that usually made the receiver feel better. The kind that said safe now. Then she turned back to the men and started searching their pockets for something sharp.

āPeter, are you trying to back out on me? If you donāt want to go out, just say so,ā Kate said, her eyes not quite meeting his. Sheād invited Peter to go downtown to see Rogers: The Musical with her, but around the same neighborhood, Madame Masque had been spotted a few times. Recluse had agreed to patrol with her and possibly Matt, but Kate wasnāt connecting the dots. āI can find someone else. Iām sure someone will want to see the show.ā
((In which Kate invites both Recluse and Peter to the same thing))
@nomatterthecost
āNo I just-I might not be able to make it for the whole thing, something came up with Lucas' sister and he needs to leave early to watch his nephew. If I can't find coverage I'll have to go into the bar.ā And now he'll have to tell his bartender Lucas that if asked his sister needed him to watch his nephew. Great, Peter hated the lack of control over the situation that gave him.
The fact that she had asked Recluse to patrol with her in the same night made this more complicated than it needed to be, honestly this entire situation was slowly spiraling out of control. The fact that Kate didn't know he was Recluse was more of an issue than he thought it would be when he had originally agreed to this whole scheme.
āAmerica? Can we⦠talk?ā
((From @nomatterthecost, Kate for America Chavez))
"Uh, I guess? What's up? I'm kind of in the middle of fixing my bike."
